Public Announcement Subreddit Discord Grand Opening!

Invite link: https://discord.gg/ZkrZeuGMYg

I made a discord server for our subreddit. It will be somewhere where you can socialize, find friends and text other students. I have also included some other things in the server that might interest you to join us.

- I will be working on a Summer Minecraft Server and have it run for all spring and summer semesters. I plan on launching it end of April after the exams are over.

- Weekly events hosted by me, online and in person. I am going do mini in person board game events on tuesdays and thursdays on campus starting next week. It'll be on 11:30am to 1:00pm. Attendance is completely optional for those who want to. I will host other events at other times in the future I just have to come up with the time and ideas.

- I have made all of the moderation logs and modmail completely public on the discord for all to see in order to have full transparency of what the moderators due so there may be full accountability.

Feel free to tag me or message me directly when your there, I always respond.

Hey all,

It's a tough time of year. I know people who have received counselling from Usask psychology students in the Clinical Psych program. They offer $25/hr sessions.

Here's all the info, you can contact them by email. I have been made aware that they are currently in need of clients so students can get their practicum hours. Please share with anyone you think needs it.

Discussion Why is it so freaking HOT in physics 165

I thought that maybe since it was ridiculously hot during September that it would be cooler in there once it got colder outside. NO. IT’S DAMN NEAR 30 DEGREES IN THERE TODAY. How the hell are we supposed to write exams in there when students can’t even focus on lectures, let alone exams because it’s boiling hot.

Anyway yeah I just wanted to complain about that

Student Question Physics 115 midterm

This is kind of late but I have my physics 115 midterm this evening in person.

My professor is A Zulkoskey.

For those who’ve taken this midterm before what is it like??
I’m so scared because I did the mock midterm and many past midterms and I score between 45 and 55%.

I’ve studied a lot but I still don’t get like half of it.

What is it like? Am I cooked? It’s 20% of my grade.

My dog is being put down on Friday and I have a midterm scheduled that day. Is it valid to ask for it to be rescheduled or should I have to miss my dogs last moments. If anyone has been in this same situation please let me know.

I've joined a couple clubs and they were dead or inactive, does anyone know a specific club / volunteering that's active in campus to meet people? I'm a compsci major on my 3rd year and it feels impossible to make new friends sometimes :(

Student Question Can we opt out of the Recreation/PAC fee?

Does anyone know if it’s possible to opt out of the mandatory Recreation Fee at USask? I don’t use the PAC gym or its facilities, so I’m wondering if there’s a form or exemption process to avoid paying the fee. Has anyone successfully done this?

Help me How to study for BMSC 200

I’m taking BMSC 200 with Scott napper and was wondering if anyone had any tips for the midterm and what kind of things to focus on? Are the key topics a good starting point? How did you memorize so much information? I’m usually good in biology but I find it all so boring it’s hard for me to memorize it all

Question? ASTR 102 Midterm

Has anyone taken ASTR 102 with Mark Boland in the last few years? What was his midterm like? What specific things does he test on? What should I focus on when studying? I just feel like there is so much content that he covers that requires the textbook readings, and the midterm is chapter 1-15. I've studied chapter 1-5 right now, but when doing the adaptive quizes he's given i get like maybe 2/3 correct. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong but I feel kind of overwhelmed right now for a class that people said was on the easier side.

Student Question Anywhere to study when campus is closed?

I've got some exams coming up, and I really want to study tomorrow 😭. I wasn't able to on Friday or Saturday due to Thanksgiving plans and Im lowkey stressing. I try not to study in my dorm, so I can keep it as my relaxation spot. Generally I study at Murray, but obviously I cant tomorrow 😭. Does anyone have any cool spots on or near campus they would recommend? Thank youuuu
