Wearing pajamas in public isn't wrong or disrespectful

There's nothing wrong with wearing pajamas to the store, park, casual restaurant, or really anywhere that doesn't have a posted dress code. As long as someone is appropriately covered and not offending children, there's no valid reason to care what other people are wearing.

People act like wearing pajamas to the grocery store is a personal insult, when really it's the opposite. What is insulting is judging others by what they wear. I'm here to be comfortable, not to please your standards ripped straight out of the 50s.

I've been told my standards are low for this perspective and frankly I take that as a compliment. You should never set standards on how other people dress.

I mean this in a genuine way, is it a conscious or subconscious thing?

For me, I subconsciously judge people who wear pajamas to the grocery store. After I notice that I feel that way, I introspect a bit and consider my feelings, and then I consciously judge people who wear pajamas to the grocery store.

Pretty much. I guess I can’t fathom the lack of self care one has to have to go out like that.

Guess you’ve never experienced a chronic or long term illness where even the thought of constricting fabric is enough to make you cry.

It’s almost never about “laziness”.

it's just lazy & sloppy. it's possible to wear pajamas that look good and intentional, but that's not the conversation i don't think.
