Seeking Advice Facebook rescue

Saw this guy in a dirty 25 gallon tank posted on marketplace for free.

Lady said she had him for seven years and just couldn't afford to replace the filter that went out. Said "he just needs a pump, I'll give you everything else you need for him"

I was given a 75 gallon tank, a stand, a bag of 'pond food', and a turtle.

Told me I could get him a platform to be out of the water if I wanted but he doesn't have to have one😤

She said he's a common map turtle and she didnt know mich else about him.

If anyone has any guidance or info on this little guy, please pass it on. We have acquired a temporary 40 gallon tank, UVA & UVB lights, thermometer, canister filter for 97 gal, a tiered basking platform filter for 60 gal, and a turtle deck platform.

I recommend He should have two filters at either side of his tank for circulation. Grab some stuff to help tap water and I recommend some that sludge treatment drops

Forgot to mention in the post but we got water treatment drops and are currently setting up his tank. Was honestly horrified when she said "IF you want to give him a dry space"

We got the beginner kit from petsmart with UVA&UVB and have them set up in his temporary enclosure for the night. On one side so he can move out of the light also. Thank you for the temp ranges, I was finding somewhat conflicting info

He looks like a map turtle. I have a northern map turtle. They absolutely need a basking platform with uva and uvb lights. Temp should be 90-105F on basking platform. Water should be 70-85F.

He should have 10 gallons per inch. He looks healthy

I don’t know enough but is the shell being pointy like that known as ā€œpyramidingā€? I googled it and it seems like a turtle’s individual scutes growing upward is pyramiding but it seems like this might be too? Can someone else with more experience or knowledge weigh in and explain?

From what I'm finding, it looks like a keeled shell is normal in northern map turtle males.

Currently reading every bit of credible information I can find on this guy.
