Seeking Advice Is he in trouble?

Found him (assuming its a him) not moving in the middle of street. I nudged him gently with my foot and he moved a little bit, but didn't actually crawl away.

I moved him off the road and left him the grass, covered lightly with leaves. I also noticed his eye were closed. See images.

If he's still there when I go for my next walk can I/should I take him back with me and try to help him or just leave him?

The eyes closed are a sign that something is wrong, a healthy wild turtle wouldn’t fall asleep somewhere so unsafe and exposed. Look up a licensed wildlife rehab/rescue near you at  https://ahnow.org and if you see the turtle again, bring it to them and they’ll treat it at no cost to you.
