The filter is not strong enough. Turtles need canister filters.

the tank is 65 gallons the filter is rated for 110 to 150

Interested in the spider plant. I was thinking about putting one on my basking dock with the roots in the water.

They also love to sun bath so put plenty of wood for it to bask on. If you pick up neat wood say along the water shore please take the time to soak it awhile in some bleach followed by a good soaking in a good chlorine to remove the bleach you cleaned it with.
