WASP Auto repair - my recent experience

Service advisor recommended suspension work, due to dry rot on some boots could allow further damage. He then showed me a VIDEO of a dry rotted boot that was opening up when turning, and presumably let grease out and contaminants in. Seemed like a solid recommendation to me.

Based on some other aspects of the visit however, I got a second opinion, and was allowed under my car when it was on the lift. You could see clear as day that everything was fine with boots (and bushings), and no work was required.

About a $1,300 quote.

WASP got new owners a while ago and haven't been the same since.

My sister has been going to WASP for over 10 years for her CRV and Odyssey. For the Odyssey recently, they said it needed close to $2000 worth of suspension work.

She went to Autopark Honda and they said none of that is needed at this time. And that's a dealership, they love to do extra work!

She voiced her frustration and distrust with the wasp management - you should do the same.

Pete retired, and some new folks took over. I've only been once since so far, but I still had a great experience.

Yeah, under the OG owners told us to sell my wife’s ‘03 Civic w/ 93K miles. He said the repair was going to cost more than the car was worth back then (2018).

They USED to be really good. We never went back after the sale, we found a shop closer with the same honesty and cost.

All my vehicles once they hit out of warranty I stay away from dealers or chain shops, do as much work as you can yourself, I have one car that hit over 200k and had not been to dealer since 30 k service, oil changes, brakes, spark plugs and anti freeze you can do yourself, You tube
