Discussion Warning for Pearson Travellers

This is a warning to anyone travelling to Pearson this week.

The Terminal Link train is down the WHOLE week for service. They are running shuttle busses but the waits are well over 30+ minutes to get on one.

If you are someone travelling out of Terminal 1, the UP is still in service but for those that need to get to terminal 3 from terminal 1 or from Viscount, expect long wait times.

Give yourself a ton of extra time because I personally saw people panicking and running for flights today because of this….

Side note… maybe it’s time for the airports in Toronto to have proper infrastructure when maintenance needs to be done.. it’s not acceptable that people are adding additional hours to an already stressful travel experience…

For anyone that has the pleasure of experiencing this outage with the Terminal Link, make sure you remember this the next time Island Airport debate comes up. Your 4 hour travel experience could be cut down to less than 2…

First photo is of my parents in front of City Hall after first arriving to Canada from Europe in 1981, and the second is of them inside of Old City Hall after they tied the knot later that same year. Just sharing as it’s mums birthday today and I was going through old photos to post on Facebook :) Thought r/Toronto would get a kick out of these retro pics! I wouldn’t debut for almost a decade after these photos.

News Toronto is safer than ever, but not everybody thinks so. Why that feeling is a real problem

From the story:

Crime is down in Toronto — homicides at a 50-year low, shootings and robberies falling — yet most Torontonians believe the opposite is true, and that disconnect has become a flashpoint in the mayoral race. As candidates trade accusations over policing and public safety, criminologists say the gap between data and fear isn’t new, but it’s proving especially potent this municipal election season.

There have been spikes in certain crimes that may be contributing to public sentiment. Police have released terrifying surveillance videos of home invasions and arsons, which are on the rise. While robberies might be down, fraud and scams are up and police across the GTA have warned distraction and retail theft is increasing.

The Star takes a closer look at the data, and the perception, across the city and beyond.

News The Local's candidate tracker now includes TDSB trustee candidates

• Upvotes

https://thelocal.to/candidate-tracker-toronto-2026/

If you click on the "candidates" drop-down menu for your ward, it now shows information about TDSB trustee candidates in addition to city councillor candidates.

I have no information about whether they intend to eventually include candidates from the other school boards.
