So...I'm extremely late to this party, and I'm seeing that Tezbox went down. And Galleon might not be a thing either anymore? I found my associated wallet, it looks like it baked by itself until 2021 and then stopped, which is probably around when Tezbox stopped being a thing. I almost for sure have a copy of the very old tezbox software kicking around. I'm just looking to send the coins to an exchange at this point in time. Any suggestions are welcomed of the most secure steps I can take to not have my coins instantly stolen. Thank you!

I’ve been reading about Tezos working on post-quantum security through TzEL, the Tezos Encrypted Ledger. From what I understand, it’s still experimental and not something I would treat as fully ready for serious funds yet.

My question is more about what regular Tezos holders would eventually have to do.

For example, if someone has XTZ on a Ledger wallet today, what happens in the future if Tezos moves toward post-quantum security? Would everyone need to move their funds into a new type of wallet like TzEL, or would normal Tezos/Ledger wallets get upgraded somehow?

I’m also trying to understand the public address issue. My understanding is that once you make a transaction, your public key can become visible on-chain. In a future quantum-risk scenario, would old addresses that already made transactions be at risk? And if so, would the solution be to move funds to a new post-quantum address before that becomes a real problem?

Also, how would this affect staking and bakers? Would delegators need to move to post-quantum addresses too? Would bakers need to upgrade their keys, baker setup, Ledger/HSM setup, or signing infrastructure? Is there already a roadmap or proposal for how Tezos staking would handle a post-quantum migration?

Basically, I’m trying to understand this from a normal holder’s point of view:

If I have Tezos on a Ledger today, and I’m staking or delegating, what would I actually need to do in the future to make sure it stays protected?

Would appreciate if someone technical could explain it in simple terms.

Not sure why my last post was deleted. I have a PDF that has the 15 secret word key. This is an old wallet from 7-8 years ago. It was an ICO wallet.

How can I access these funds? Confused by all the different wallets. When I look at the tezos Block Explorer, I can see my original amount still in there.

I've been buying Tezos for close to 5 years in Crypto.com but I'm looking into moving away from them and looking for European alternatives instead.

The good thing about Crypto.com was that it was very cheap to move XTZ to my external wallet (0.01€ if I remember correctly).

I noticed that recently my desktop version of Umami wallet wasn't fully working correctly, so I checked out their site to see if there was a new version available for upgrading. Their site no longer offers a desktop download, only a web app. I don't see any updates from them directly on this, but have they stopped offering a Desktop app?

If so, anyone have any decent desktop alternatives? The options seem limited for those. I'm aware of using browser extensions. And to move lots of NFTs, etc to a new hardware wallet address would be a big effort.

Hi folks, I receive very erratic and inconsistent staking rewards on Coinbase. The value is not fluctuating anywhere near the same degree as rewards are fluctuating. I’ve included some photographs here. I realize I’m posting about nickels and dimes here, but it does add up and if I should be receiving more of a payout I’d certainly like to.

Could anyone possibly help me understand why my rewards are all over the place?

Turns out that https://briskett.app uses m/44'/1729'/0' as the key derivation path, so if you import the seed phrase from that wallet into any other wallet, you are not going to get the same address, as pretty much every other wallet I tried uses m/44'/1729'/0'/0' as the key derivation path.

I wrote a small python script to derive the keys the same way Briskett.app does so that the secret key could then be imported into Temple wallet or tezos cli suite.

" Anyone know anything about an error with Temple wallet? I get 'Internal Server Error' when trying to import my wallet. Message also says "Temple server cannot be accessed at this moment - Please try again later" I first got this error yesterday. I have tried Chrome and MS Edge, same error on both."

After KYC and activation, went to Kukai to restore the ICO xtzs. I entered all the required information saved from the ICO. Using the “Fundraiser” option, if I only enter seed words, email and password, and leave public key hash blank, it successfully creates a wallet, however the balance in the wallet is 0. If I enter all the information, including the key hash (from the ICO pdf printout), it then shows invalid email or password. The email and password are exactly the same; the only difference is the public key hashed is entered.

Any idea why?

I see that transactions from tezos wallets no longer sync to services like cointracker, koinly etc. Looks like this has been broken for a while now. Is there an ETA on if and when this is going to be fixed? Having to do this manually is a real pain in the rear.

I unstaked some XTZ in cycle #822 and waited patiently checking tzkt.io for 4 cycles. Through cycle #827 I still saw the XTZ as “Unstaked” waiting to finalize instead of “spendable.” Well, I poke around and see that my unstaked XTZ has a status of “finalizable.” So, some words of advice, after 4 cycles, go to your wallet and “finalize” the unstaking. All’s well!

We have lost 50,000 dollars, and we are poor farmers in rural North Carolina...we can't buy back in.We were counting on those tezos to be a long term investment, and this is the worst night we've had in a long time since we've both been out of work as a result of the pandemic, and that security blanket meant a lot to us. I've been an evangelist of this project since day one, and even introduced some programmers to Arthur back in the day ( I was a techie in a previous life). Can someone help us understand how this could possibly happen? We have never shared our secret passphrase with anyone. We are devastated, and having some very dark thoughts. EDIT: I googled the address and found a few other people from reddit around the same time frame who had their tezos sent to that address despite not using online wallets. What the hell is happening....and why is it happening to me.

EDIT: I spoke to Arrigo last night from the Tezos Foundation, apparently there is a group of victims who have all lost their tezos to this same pattern of behavior and they have been attempting to track them. I am hoping that the FBI will be able to bring more clarity.

Am I for real going to have to wait until Nov 9th to install my Tezos?

A little background: I gamble a lot and have staked tezos in the past on coinbase to make sure I have money still later in the day when it becomes unstaked. Usually it takes about six hours before I can use it again but this time it’s looking more like 20+ days. I’m not really looking to actually stake tezos, I just use it as a safety lock box with a timer.

The only thing I can think of is they somehow accessed it via wifi.

About an hour ago I learned that Galleon will stop functioning this December. I migrated my ICO Tezos to Galleon about 2 years ago and left them there since, I never set up baking or anything like that. They're basically just sitting there. I have access to my wallet and I am able to log in but I keep getting the "We're currently experiencing network issues." message and stuck on the "Retrieving your account" step. I tried logging in and out a few times with the same results.

Is this an issue with the Galleon wallet since it'll shut down soon, or is it a Tezos network issue? Any help is appreciated.
