I happened upon this young man (well.. canāt even call him that) fellow in the comment section of a post about childrenās movies that end in suicide. Kind of some heavy material of discussion for an 8 year old kid⦠I would share the comment that I replied to but Iām worried about this kidās digital safety. He appears to be just wandering the internet unsupervised⦠I really couldnāt believe it when I first saw his comment so I took a look at his profile and am 100% certain heās a child. There is a drawing on there of another slightly adultish cartoon that he made a drawing of, and it was definitely done by a kid. The good news is, many other concerned people seem to be replying to his posts and comments telling him the same thing I told him. My original comment was, āBuddy, you are way too young to be on Reddit.ā which was what triggered this response. And as of today since I just checked his profile, he seems to be inactive or at least no longer commenting or posting. I tried to report his profile but I couldnāt even figure out how navigate the report feature to get to āLiteral child on adult platformā. The whole situation makes me a little sad for the future of these kids. I donāt even have kids of my own yet I know better than to allow an 8 year old to make it onto Reddit. Letting your kid āwanderā into the digital world is just as dangerous as allowing them to wander in the physical world. You never know who theyāll end up interacting with.
Edit: I have reported his profile to Reddit. Hopefully theyāll get it resolved and get this lil guy back safely to his irresponsible parents.
