Reddit DMs Why are men?

Post image

Nothing about my profile or anything involving it would ever make it seem like I would be open to a message like this

To all the men saying “at least he asked” I was never asked if I was okay receiving an unsolicited sexual message from a stranger. Asking for consent implies that the person has already expressed some sort of sexual interest in you. Don’t message strangers sex shit. It isn’t some unalienable right to ask women if they want to fuck you. Doing that with no other preamble makes you a creep.

You don't determine the presence of consent without asking, genius

You should assume all strangers are not consenting to sexual messages from you. Maybe ask a stranger if they’re willing to speak to you at all before bringing up them doing a sex act with you

I don’t understand why you can’t just say no here. What damage is done to you by them asking if it’s something you’d be interested in? Some people would be down for this and asking politely is obviously the best way to see if whoever you’re speaking to is one of those people.

99.9% of strangers sent an unsolicited sexual message would not be down for this. He didn’t ask my consent to engage in a sexually charged conversation with me, or my consent to talk to him at all. Asking for consent applies to two people who have already gotten to the point of potentially entering a sexual encounter. I never consented to participating in a sexual convo with a stranger. He jumped straight into an unsolicited sexual message to a profile that could belong to a minor.

It’s not some unalienable right to ask a woman to have sex with you. It’s fucking creepy when you’ve never spoken to them before.

I have a solution for you: get off the internet! As far as harassment goes, this is as inconsequential as it gets. You think he's creepy? Great! Block him! You never have to see or interact with this random person ever again! Making a whole ass reddit post is very much an overreaction. Some people are disgusting and inconsiderate, and pretty much all of them are on the internet, if you're incapable of using the tools to deal with them or your psyche is so fragile something as insignificant as this completely breaks your brain, simply don't be here.

Your comment took much more effort than my initial reddit post. Perhaps you should also get off the internet

That's a funny way to say, "You're right, I'm being dramatic" but that's very big of you
