A boyfriend I had a long time ago was setting up a terrarium. He was sending me pictures of different things to put init. He wanted my opinion about these mushrooms, whether to get pink or purple ones. I was simultaneously texting my boss and I accidentally sent “I like your pink mushroom the most”. I almost died.

I once accidentally texted an employee “you should come eat dinner” when I meant to text my girlfriend, telling her that dinner was ready.
I didn’t look at my phone again until the next morning but he had texted me back something to the effect of, “oh wow thank you, I’m already making dinner but we should totally do that sometime.”

I once accidentally sent a picture of a collar, leash, black lipstick, and booze with the caption "ready for tonight, bitch?" To my work group chat when I was in college instead of to the girl I was seeing. Somehow that made me MORE friends at work lol.

I'm confused how you came to that conclusion. I was sending it to my (at the time gf) who had asked me to talk to her like that. I would never talk to a stranger like that, hence the embarrassment at sending it to the wrong person. I did have to awkwardly explain that to the workplace though lol. Never making that mistake again!

One time the community organization I worked for was coordinating with the local park and recs department. The lead parks and rec dude was kind of full of himself and kind of an ass. I said as much in an email thread to my organization colleagues and promptly forwarded the email to him as well!!! I DIED because in my mind I was not only ruining my relationship with the parks and rec department, but potentially our organization's as well!! To his credit he did take it in stride and said he needed a thick skin to do his job. I apologized profusely.
Your story made me die inside a little like that again. 😅 I hope everything goes smoothly for you in the aftermath!

I did that … was texting my off-shift manager about how terrible my co-worker was but sent it to my co-worker! Smoothed it over somehow with said coworker then did it again like 20 minutes later… there was absolutely no coming back from that one 🤡

like 8-10 years back, my boss sent an extremely dirty joke (probably the dirtiest I’ve ever heard or read) on the company’s whatsapp group, that group was for announcements and it literally had everyone in the company in it. worst part is, whatsapp didn’t have the “delete for everyone” option back then. so he wrote a huge ass apology text and people kept spamming bullshit in the group to make the joke go up hoping less people will see it, especially female coworkers.

If it makes you feel better I once accidentally sent an EXTREMELY sexual text to my lady manager instead of my girlfriend. I didn’t even wait for a response, as soon as I realized what I did I blocked everyone I worked with and never showed up again lol. This was just a dumb starter job I worked when I was like 20 so it was no biggie

We have 2 main group chats. The one with everyone and the one minus the boss. I was turning the corner to walk into work and there at least 3 helicopters 10+ police cars etc. whole road was closed. And I sent a video “oh my god yall the news crew is here the intersections blocked off. idk what happened but we ain’t getting no customers today! This is wild af. Oh my god I think someone died…. and I’m over here looking like this” and the camera reverses and it’s just me dressed like a dumbass with a full holiday themed outfit complete with face paint, springy headband, etc…..
my boss received that at 5:45 in the morning 💀

Very true for most jobs, and frankly if it were one of those I probably wouldn’t have shared it here because I’d be crying, but luckily I’m the oldest employee, so people tend to be pretty chill and lenient lol

I moved to part time online teaching and then got a customer service job at a health insurance company (paid well but TERRIBLE) then I went back to being a barista, found an AMAZING small business and now I’m about to buy it :) I lucked out but I also just went for it, I have a spouse who picked up slack while I transitioned jobs as well
