This would be me. I hate having to deal with family beyond my own core unit (husband and kids) on holidays now. It’s too complicated with his family and my divided family I grew up with, and then all the drama that ensues over who we saw and who we didn’t see. I’d rather be drunk.

Yes! I fuuullly relate. I drink occasionally but yes I will drink early when having to deal with very complicated people.

Other countries have their own versions of thanksgiving, on different dates. Canada is the second monday in october.

So funny, my immediate thought was " huh, 2onder what country they are in", not "it's not even November yet, Thanksgiving is in November"

I don’t care what happens when with the sole exception of seeing Christmas shit going up in stores before October (Halloween stuff). That’s just rude to all of us spooky season lovers. Let us have our time lol

Yeah, thankfully, having thanksgiving before halloween always makes our decorations very fall heavy. Before all the christmas stuff starts getting vomited into the stores. Big ones have small sections already here :( But bigger halloween/fall/Thanksgiving deco section ❤️❤️

It’s not a big thing here. Just a long weekend and an excuse to eat turkey.

It’s not celebrated nearly as big as it is in the US.

Honestly you guys go hard for thanksgiving but don’t seem to go as wild at Xmas.

Canadians make a much bigger deal of Xmas and Boxing Day (Dec 26) is treated a lot more like the way y’all treat Black Friday.

At least…. That’s the way it was before Amazon and cyber Monday and all that.

Yes ^ 👍 I have a chef for a step dad and its only been a slightly bigger deal with him because he can cook a nice big meal.

But its for sure way bigger in the US I think thats why its forgotten so often hahaha

The US also has a Thanksgiving weekend. But 10am would still be early to already be smashed, especially if you're contributing.

Yeah, to be fair, I can fully agree. The fact that he's hammered, not just tipsy. I think I was more giggling at the fact there is a very popular, very large holiday for a very large country today. Which includes family coming to visit and often, that's when people drink.

But all honesty, when I first saw this, I assumed he was just still drunk from the night before. Or something

Oh yeah. Def. Simply drinking at 10am is nbd.

True. And it would be funny if he actually is in Canada because that kind of night is holiday behavior.

Yeah tbh I drink a couple times a year but I start drinking early when I have to deal with family who are awful. So thats why I thought that at first before I clicked he seems pretty hammered.
