Phone message My partner letting me know hes arrived home from work

u/nyanya707 1d ago
Hoping my comment doesn’t get lost here BUT to those of you mad at my response or saying im dismissing him or depriving him from attention with my attitude, I promise you all he is very much fine. We are in fact engaged and very happy and my response was meant as a joke. We’re in a ldr and i called him right after sending this message to play games together. Hes always been like this with his tomfoolery and it does make me laugh every time. Theres no actual dismissal nor am i keeping him deprived from attention. Hes my entire world and I love him to bits. I just thought his messages were funny and decided to post them 😭

I don't know why people are overreacting, it's obvious this was not toxic.

u/nyanya707 1d ago
When we’re together & in bed and he says something goofy like this, i usually try to roll off the bed saying goodbye to him & he rolls me back before i can get off, saying hello to me. It’s just normal for us and i didn’t think people would take it so seriously 😭

u/SteOfTheF 1d ago edited 14h ago
Surprise him next time, and when he says something goofy, roll him off the bed 👀
Edit: Oooh, my first award 😁

u/nyanya707 22h ago
Ive done that too and then all you can hear is a panicked WHY as he holds on for dear life

u/hiddenshadow671 17h ago
My wife also responds to me this way. Glad to see it happening in other relationships. May yalls future be kind to yall.

u/HyperBoom6 11h ago
Girl I’m smiling all giddy reading this!! Idk how people take this so seriously, it’s obviously meant as a joke 😅😅 hope you two have a happy forever! You got yourself a keeper teehee

At dinner tonight my family was going around telling each other what we are thankful for.
My partner said me. I said "gross." Everybody laughed and I rubbed his leg blushing.
It's almost as if different relationships have different dynamics.
13
u/Ok-Performer7253 22h ago
Everyone should be able to joke around and feel safe and secure with their SO. What kind of relationship are you even in if you can’t laugh?
I used to say “Right, I’m off!” (Like I’m outta here) but I might start saying “goodbye”, to make it more formal 😆12

when my partner does this to me i grab them and pull them onto the floor with me bc if im going down were BOTH going down.
3
u/WildCherryPepsiman 1d ago
That's so adorably funny lol. My wife and I are incredibly goofy to each other in our own ways.
3
u/Nanners129 15h ago
This is an incredible bit I wish I could incorporate into my marriage, but I think we're too far in and he would just let me roll off 😂

Wait my partner and I are also LDR and this is us every time we are together. I also say ”goodbye” to his tomfoolery haha. I love love.

It’s people with no sense of humor. I’m glad I read this text and laughed inside knowing that my significant other and I do the same exact thing. This is the secret to longevity and success. If you’re not flaming each other on a daily basis where even is your marriage?
4
u/nyanya707 9h ago
Oh the flaming eachother is so real. Especially since we both love video games and recently play a lot of outlast together so hes in some corner crying at me for not helping him as he’s about to be mauled and im in another corner going HAHA loser! & in return him doing the same so me when im the one begging for help
3
u/DangerRanger- 8h ago
Wait…we can play Outlast together?!
My partner and I played Phasmophobia together for the first time last night and BOY DID I disappoint her by dying almost immediately during every investigation.
2
u/nyanya707 8h ago
Yes Outlast Trials! It was recently on sale so now its back to original price on steam so i recommend buying it through instant gaming, thats what we did too before the sale came out lol. But that outlast is specifically designed for coop ! We’ve been loving it a LOT

It's like people have never encountered a fun flirty couple. This sounds just like me and my husband where he makes some grand silly statement and I respond "New phone, who dis?" and then we're snuggled up 15 minutes later after a good laugh. I guess it's apparently not for everyone, but 22 years in, I can't imagine being with someone who doesn't nashe me laugh like that.

Idk about everyone else, but his "aww shucks" tells me this is love. This some type of stuff I would do and hope for lol.
9
u/john_munsey 14h ago
Me and my fiancé do this literally all the time, Ill ask 'can you plug in my phone for me' and he'll be like 'no' and then immediately do it anyway lmao
5
u/nyanya707 14h ago
Oh Ive done this to everyone my entire life 😭 I also like to start fake fights with him telling him to square up over the stupidest reasons and see how long i can keep a straight face. He just always looks at me like 🤨?? And it cracks me up

u/john_munsey 14h ago
It makes me glad to see other people have found real love in life, being able to be goofy with your spouse is such a blessing

u/HipsterUsernameHere 22h ago
This isn't toxic in the least. Joking with each other is the sign of a healthy relationship. My husband and I have been together twenty years and this is how our text messages look.
People calling this toxic are tripping and haven't been in a healthy relationship before.
3
u/cupholdery 15h ago
Or haven't been in any relationship lol.
3
u/MonitorPowerful5461 10h ago
You also have to be either very dumb or very angry. I'm not particularly emotionally intelligent and I havent been in any relationships before but even I can tell this is just fun...
5
u/MikeyK2716 11h ago
There is no need for you to explain yourself to trolls on the interwebs. My wife would have said the same thing. You clearly tell from the tone of the texts that it is playful banter. I am sure you both laughed at each other's texts. Keep having fun. Keep being yourselves. Tell the assholes to fuck off! Wish both of you many years of love and laughter
4
u/celestialdream13 1d ago
It’s honestly jealousy. I’d love to have this type of relationship. Laughter, comfortable enough to be me and safety. I love it! Good luck to you both 🩷.
3
u/girl-kiss 1d ago
people over think messages so much on reddit, always assuming the worst, dont worry u did nothing wrong, i instantly knew it was a joke, i do tomfoolery like him as well xD
3
u/Relevant_Detective21 15h ago
Right!! And I respond like this as well xD I would’ve definitely said bye lmaooo
2
u/girl-kiss 15h ago
yeah lmao XD
I sometimes joke similarly with friends too like, they do something silly and I go "ok we are divorcing" lmao... the absurdity is funny to me.
(but ofc i wouldnt make that joke if i was actually married)
4
u/Medium_Educator1983 1d ago
I knew you two were just fooling around. Some people just have that rapport. Ignore the negative Nancy’s and enjoy your amazing partner.
4
u/Accomplished_Bear_70 9h ago
Sadly a lot of people on the internet arent capable of thinking critically lol
3
u/mrbigsbe 1d ago
I get why you said it. Cus he is being a dork and you know he is on his silly shit. But that’s his expression of love. And you were just going with. My exes would give the same reply when I would
Be a dork like that. Then when I didn’t do it they would allude me doing it. Cus they thought it was cute.3
u/Reimu_Kirisame 1d ago
Whaat, the community that's know to turn everything into a joke for karma farming doesn't understand it's a joke? Wild.
3
u/Efficient-Big3138 1d ago
I do the same thing to my wife, nearly ever person in a normal healthy relationship have these moment were you make your wife roll her eyes, it's honestly a goal as a man
3
3
u/Leo_suon 16h ago
But even I saw this as a joke and I found it funny. My fiancé and I have the same interactions. I like to act childish with my lady, and she likes to ask why I come here with my ways. That’s a healthy dynamic to me.
3
u/Maggot_Dimon 15h ago
U're depriving him as long as u both don't close the distance :D go for it!
4
u/nyanya707 15h ago
Trust me we are TRYING 😭 but finding a primarily English speaking job in a foreign country is difficult. And my language is HARD 😔 for now we’re just happy we get the chance to see eachother so often to begin with

You don’t need to explain to the idiots on Vinted about your emotional connection with your partner! Let these losers keep hating and being triggered and meanwhile, go and have the best life with your number one 😊.
2
u/No-Basil-1880 22h ago
Keep doing you!
It isn’t your fault that so many insecure people haven’t had this level of comfort in a relationship 😂
2
u/Ok-Performer7253 22h ago
Relationship goals right there! I would 100% reply like this too or my other favourites - “I’ll think about it” or “we’ll see how it goes” 😂
2
u/RadioactiveHugs 18h ago
I’m sorry people freaked out at you for this! I do similar things with my boo and I loved seeing someone else do it too.
One of our faves is to go “ewwww! I don’t want your germs!!!” when the other person leans in for a kiss - then the scorned one naturally has to lick the face of the one going “ewww!” 😝

Funny! My children sometimes text or call from downstairs or outside 😭 I wanted an in home intercom system but I guess this will do. I wanted a dumbwaiter too but them carrying stuff for me up and down the stairs is fine 😂
20
u/RaisinSagBag 1d ago
You can use apple home pod minis as intercoms through your house!!
12
u/Cautious-Exercise729 1d ago
I never thought of that! The house from Home Alone will have nothing on me by the time Im done.
Do you have an indoor elevator ideas that don’t involve construction or approvals? Say yes.

3
u/Otherwise_Yak_3513 1d ago
Some type of elaborate erector set like in the sandlot to carry things up and down!
3
u/Cautious-Exercise729 1d ago
We could do this with the bulk of the Legos lying all about the play room. Love this idea.

We use our Google home as an intercom. The feature is called "broadcast".
2

u/skuntholem 1d ago
I used this as well, my old house had an old nutone intercom system, I rewired the whole system to put a google home in every room that previously had one

This is terrible and cringe...
... And we should all have someone we can be terrible and cringe with ❤️
19
u/nyanya707 1d ago
He makes me laugh in a way no one else ever has & lets me be just as cringe when we’re outside so yes it’s incredibly fun. His sister lost her mind when she found out he proposed to me while i was deep invested in watching minions and he decided to interrupt that. Now our not-so-romantic goofy ass proposal story will forever include the small yellow bastards

This benig reddit I'm surprised no one has mentioned the obvious yet which is that you should divorce him.
24
u/nyanya707 1d ago
Based on the comments, i think theyd rather encourage him to divorce me
9
u/Nicole-NB 1d ago
Good point. OP's husband, leave her immediately, this relationship is clearly beyond fixing.

I read it as like, "you're stupid" kind of goodbye. Like you're a dork. Because I am the dork and have gotten that response before. I know I'm being silly. He was being silly and knows it. She wasn't being mean. They were playing.

I responded to another comment here too saying this but if we’re together and he says something like this, i try to roll off the bed saying goodbye and he rolls me back saying hello

u/saintscoutt 19h ago
That's so cute lol. Reminds me of my fiance, he will cheese it up and I'll walk away saying "okay so I'm gonna go now..." And he runs after me saying "where are we going??"

This is exactly why people should never judge someone’s relationship from the smallest detail.
While I see a couple that seems to have a lot of fun joking with one another there seems to be a non-insignificant population who thinks otherwise.
If it were me I’d bust his chops back though.

This post is further proof the majority of people in this sub have never had a good relationship where both sides can laugh at each other.
