Ubuntu didn't had my device files access, using ls command it was all empty. How is that even possible????

It deleted Everything thing except apps.

Just started using Termux and I’m curious what you guys use it for on a daily basis.

I Have A Rooted Android Running Termux 24/7 What Can I do with it Because for now it it not doing Anything and I Want to do Something Cool With it But i dont know What ?

Sometimes I wonder who was the devloper of termux because this is the largely used app on android and kinda a reason to have android over ios termux have endless possibilities specially for old android phones you can convert your phone into anything useful the fact termux like apps are not exactly i can say exists on large quantity that converts your phone into linux. I have a huge respect to devlopers to make this application very useful in daily life or linux basic learning or even for devlopers

Fact: I use android over ios because of termux and Android itself freedom.

Why it doesn't get any updates since a year ago?ik it's not much but on GitHub weren't any actual activity and similar type of apps get updates more frequently

It’s useless to use Termux, hear me out before you go commenting bad comments, So Google has had recently Updates that include a terminal for Debian and Termux is no longer needed

Here’s the steps to enable it
1. Enable Developer Options
2. Search Linux Development Environment
3. Enable it
4. Let the official installer install
5. Have fun and install your tools

Termux is obsolete for pixel 7 and up due to there being a terminal built into the OS

So can you explain why people Termux on Pixel 7 and up?

Guys i really need gcc to follow along with learncpp tutorials and since termux dropped gcc support. I am having issues. Is there any way i can get gcc on termux ?

And some of you might say that i should use clang.

I dont like clang since it dosent have better c++ 26 implementation. and gcc 16 has better c++ 26 implementations. And learncpp reccomends . Clang is actually great if i use c++ 17. But i explicitly need c++ 26. And thats why i need gcc on termux.

And the issue is

When we type gcc --version in termux

We get clang version info

Since the word gcc is connected to clang. Someone help me , please how to get the real gcc , not the clang disguised as gcc but the real gcc on termux?

I dont wanna run linux distro on proot since proot is slow.

I, sometimes, stay away from my PC. I recently found termux as a great tool to experience the PC environment. But it's hard to edit codes in mobile which I need to do on my Phone as I stay away from my PC. Yeah, I can use an AI to automate tasks using CLI, but I want to see & take control of the codes.

Can you suggest some or the best way to experience VS Code type experience in my phone?

Though mobile screen size will make my experience worse but it will be good to have a great tool to experience VS Code type editor in Mobile.

How to keep the termux app running 24*7. I tried everything but still after 1 to 2 hours termux automatically gets cleared out of memory. My device is Moto edge 60 stylus (RAM-8 gb, Android-16). I even keep a floating app running and still android clears it out of memory. ANDROID MEMORY MANAGEMENT SUCKS..!! (EDIT - tried everything , now termux auto crashes while i am using it. What am I missing guys? PLS help..!!)

I'm new to Termux and I'm basically learning it with ChatGPT guiding me step by step.

Because of that, I take a lot of screenshots of the Termux terminal — errors, command outputs, settings, etc. — and send them to ChatGPT so it can see what happened and tell me what to do next.

Right now, I can take a screenshot and use Android's Share menu to send it to ChatGPT, which is very convenient. The problem is that it seems to open a new ChatGPT conversation instead of sending the screenshot to the conversation I'm already using.

Ideally, I'd like the workflow to be:

Termux → Take screenshot → Share to ChatGPT → Screenshot appears in my current conversation

instead of creating a new chat every time.

Since I'm doing this repeatedly while learning Termux, being able to send a screenshot directly to the current conversation would make the whole workflow much faster.

Does the ChatGPT Android app support any way to do this? Maybe through an Android Intent, deep link, shortcut, automation, or another workaround?

Since I'm already using Termux, I'm also happy to use a Termux script if that's possible.

So I want to learn coding on my android device. My device is xiaomi pad 6 8gb/256gb varient . So ik Abt code server but my tablet for some reason has a black bar which hides the terminal window. My tablet is not rooted . I want good performance and it should not lag a lot , that's what I only want . Any type of suggestions are welcomed .

I just installed a debian proot with x11 nothing more.

What are some basic fun things to do on Termux?
