Updating drivers causes my laptop to be unable to pass the startup screen, how else I am supposed to update drivers?

Self explanatory, this problem has already been talked before and I already know how to uninstall the faulty drivers. What I want to know and haven't really seen anyone talking about is how else i am supposed to update my drivers, I tried using NVCleanistall but no luck, problem still persists. Any other solution? I'm using Nvidia btw
