Open | Windows Display disconnects when running intensive games

Hi! I've been encountering an issue with my computer where the display disconnects whenever I run a graphic-intensive game, but sound still goes through.

I'm currently on Windows with an Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti.

Turning my monitor off and on again doesn't do anything. It also doesn't seem to be a driver-related issue, as I've upgraded and downgraded my graphics driver only for the issue to occur regardless.

Opening Event Viewer when this happens consistently shows an error with an event ID of 1000 in which dwm.exe faults.

I'm suspecting it's a hardware issue, and I'm wondering if there's any way of fixing it myself. I have a bracket on my GPU to prevent sag, though it's been a while since I've re-adjusted it.

I'd appreciate any sort of insight into my issue. Thank you!

could your power supply wattage be too low for your set up?

i'm not sure if that could be the case? i've had my current build for around 5 years, and this has been a recent issue that's only been happening since last month

Are the recent games you've been playing more intensive? My thought process is the games are causing your gpu to pull more power from the psu but it's not keeping up with the demand chasing your monitor to not have a display
