I’m curious if it is effecting subreddits.

hard to tell between the demotivated magults going quiet in embarrassment and russian bots out for a smoke break

midterms looking as deep and blue as our little blue marble, but let's not let that stagnate us, we still have a mission to do making sure our votes even count

Take the hope, but rely on nothing.

I had to check r/SpaceXBets , normally full of Musk simps: they've basically disappeared in the last day.

You can't be serious. That place hates Elon lol

u/Rush_Banana 14h ago

That sub literally shits on Elon.

Almost all of the top posts of the month there are anti-Musk, and mostly predating the data centre attack.

It's not. But it is affecting them.

"Well, now, let me put it this way. If all the 'bots buried around here were to stand up all at once, we'd have one hell of a population problem."

That’s an AI slip infographic that the creator can’t explain the methodology for.

Yes but it says something that they want to be true, so that's what they'll believe. They'll just ignore the fact that all the mods posting screenshots of their actual subreddit stats show zero difference in traffic. Including ones like r/Europe, which would be a huge target for these bots and would absolutely show a noticeable difference.

Where did these visitor counts come from/what plugin or website can show you that?

Thanks! The data is in hourly chunks, in UTC, from Syften’s public subreddit stats pages, which update daily. It counts posts and comments combined.
This pass covered 1,221 subreddits: a broad selection of popular subs plus extra US/European political and regional communities. 968 met the activity and data requirements for the comparison. So fairly broad coverage, but definitely not all of Reddit.
Saw posts discussing the topic, figured I’d put my Chat subscription to use.

https://syften.com/reddit - The data isn't public but that OP had access to the data so decided to do some digging.

Ah, that makes sense... it's a paid service.

Thanks for the explanation.

Definitely affecting /r/conservative

13

u/fcking_schmuck 17h ago

People said earlier that r/Conservative was obviously affected.

u/GGC64 17h ago

Checked yesterday. Near empty.

There have been like eight new posts in the last twelve hours there. It would be hilarious if it wasn't so evident that all this shit is simply manufactured rage by adversarial nations to further divide the public.

u/Cryptoporticus 13h ago

You obviously don't browse there regularly. That's pretty normal. It's a quiet subreddit and everything has to be approved by the mods.

1.2 million subs, 0 online at the time of this reply.

u/wowlock_taylan 17h ago

Seems like r/Conservative was 0 active users for a while :D

u/a-stack-of-masks 17h ago

Haha it absolutely is. Some of the real alt right people in my local nazi-adjacent sub got confused and went into the main one, then got pissed off that so many people were calling them out on being racist and weird.

This is from /r/Conservative - there was an 8 hour gap in submissions.
