Just thought I'd show this off since this area is surprisingly tucked away and there may be people who don't know about it.

I'm super happy with how this turned out. Main pieces are Fitted Echani Trackers top, Imperial Officer's belt, G.A.M.E. officials pants.

I've been thinking about getting into SWTOR as my first ever MMO, but before investing a lot of time into it, I'd like to hear from people who actively play the game.

Since SWTOR has been around for so long, I'm curious whether it's still worth starting in 2026 or if I'm getting into it too late. I know the game still receives updates, and with 8.0 in development, there seems to be more planned for its future. At the same time, I don't know how healthy the game is these days or what its long-term outlook looks like.

A few things I'd like to know:
How active is the playerbase nowadays? Is it easy to find people to play with, join guilds, and participate in group content?

Do you think SWTOR has a sustainable future, or are you concerned about its long-term support?

Is there enough content to keep a new player occupied for a long time?

For those who've played for years, does the game still feel worth investing in, or has it become harder to stay interested?

Would you recommend starting now, especially with the upcoming 8.0 update, or would it make more sense to wait?

I'm happy to start as a free-to-play player and spend money later if I genuinely enjoy the game. I just want to feel reasonably confident that it's a game I can stick with for years rather than invest in something that's nearing the end of its life.

For longtime players, would you personally recommend getting into SWTOR in 2026? I'd appreciate honest opinions about the current state of the game, its community, and where you think it's heading over the next few years.

This isn't true.

I've just finished the story on my Smuggler and i'm not even level 50 (pic 1 and 2)

I had :

- xp boost on all the time (pic 1)

- a max level guild with max bonus xp

- tier 3 legacy xp story mission (pic 3)

I did the main story and companion stories only (pic 4).

The only extra things i did are :

- all the Ord Mantell missions including Heroics

- most of Coruscant missions but no heroics

I didn't do a single dynamic event or FP.

Is the xp nerf next patch really deserved ?

I guess i'm doing FPs till 50 now.

Vote for your favorite storyline! Tatooine Planet Arc includes both factions' storylines, uncovering the buried mysteries of Czerka. And the prologue for Sith Warrior includes both Korriban and Dromund Kaas.

I'm doing one of these for each class, and this made me realize that the Smuggler has SO MANY temporary allies! There's even a couple I left off the list that could technically qualify!

Here we have Marshall Cavarat, Lokir-ka, Miel, Nariel, Vaverone, Numen, Vaz, and Viidu!

And I'm loving it

With Jennifer Hale as a space trooper leading a motley crew of aliens, too, I keep expecting the Illusive Man to pop out of nowhere sometimes haha

I really really wish the saboteur storyline had more of an impact and consequences on the story. I keep thinking back to 7.9 and how happy I was it was mentioned, only for Anri and the mandalorians to defend us and essentially push it aside.

I know this game can only have so many branching options before it gets crazy, but this one feels like it should have had more consequences rather than the empress/emperor making snarky comments about it. It felt really disappointing.

I hope that 8.0 will start off with consequences or anything of the sort, (imprisonment, etc), just anything at all would be nice.

Started as a Jedi Knight as suggested on this sub, just finished tython, absolutely loving the game, the story, the characters, the world, but seriously, how do i understand the game as a game? The UI feels confusing and overwhelming, i have no idea what levels even mean or what buttons to press, the game is amazing, but I have no idea how to actually play vs just mashing buttons

Does broadsword plan to develop a new launcher for swtor on macbook or is this the end for mac players?

I was a purely solo story interested player on and off over last few years and played through several of the classes to end. Only two things made me put it down which were having NO clue how to find people in UK time to do multiplayer flashpoints/raids with and that the actual grinding through the combat in story mode felt extremely boring after a while.

It kind of didn’t matter at all what moves you did and you couldn’t really die as companions heal you.

I’ve seen 8.0 looks to bring in story difficulty modes - one will be like at launch. Do you know if this will make story combat in the world require care and attention and feel actually rewarding?

I want a game to feel like I earned success at the end of combat encounters and like it was a challenge that I used my brain to win (why I love zero company!)

Attempting to use the swtorista controller layout on an ROG XBox Ally and having some issues, curious if anyone else has tried the same setup and can help.

I have downloaded the community layout and launched Steam/the game in Big Picture mode. I get a screen that shows that the game will utilize a community layout for my controller. The main menu is recognizing my right thumb stick as my mouse movement, and I can use the right bumper to click. So it seems like Steam knows it should be using the swtorista configuration, and when I open the Steam controller overlay it looks like it recognizes I am using a controller with the swtorista layout. Once I am in the game, I can move around with the thumb sticks and can still use the right bumper and trigger to click/interact, but none of the face buttons work as intended. A, B, X, and Y should all be mapped to abilities 1-4 in my hot bar. A opens the chat, B opens the game menu, and X and Y don’t do anything. The D-pad should also control some abilities, but all I do is strafe if I press them.

Anybody know if I am missing a step, or have any other troubleshooting advice?

What would your take be on an introduction of a token for 'sub play time'. To my limited understanding, it allows blizzard slightly more control of the dollars per gold in the real-money trading sites. Means you don't need a whole new hypercrate worth of content being released if a mr. moneybags just wants a quick flip. And those who do constantly flip cartel coins for gold have a steadier source of credits.

Would this still be a bad idea given the state of the economy? Would all the billionaires who've hung on to their cash abuse it, and would the game just lose more people paying for a sub? Would its implementation leave a bad taste in your mouth? Would there be any upside to (probably) more players being able to participate in ops and stuff, and the boost in player raid activity?

Been enjoying pathlerix gold token challenge videos and would really enjoy something like that in swtor.

basically what the title says, sorry for the silly question but i was just wondering if you could trade legacy bound items, especially the mandalorian armor from rhunuk, i really want this set but i don't have much time for the grind and the patience to get it.
