Hello all! We have a new and growing Discord, more than 100 comrades have joined in the first month!
If you had attempted to join the Discord through the auto-mod response, or through the sidebar's link, you were formerly directed towards a dead server. Now, the server is pretty much set up.
We are also looking to start a book club soon using the Discord to meet, but will have discussion posts here too for those who do not want to participate in the discord.
It is still pretty bare bones, we have roles and channels set up however suggestions can be made *within the server* on things that could be added. We are looking at ways to get more people engaged and looking for suggestion on activities we can do as a community related to socialism.
For now, here is the invite link, join away!

Over 10,000 people reportedly gathered at Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s rally in Clermont-Ferrand, France, yesterday.
A pretty powerful moment

That whole individualistic cultural expectation for people to move out and separate from their parents, siblings etc to live alone in america is just ridiculous and inefficient. in every other country outside of the west families stick together and support each other. everyone shares the cost of the bills, rent, and basic necessities instead of it being one person doing all of that solo, it reduces stress and loneliness since you constantly get to spend quality time with your parents and siblings, unlike in the west where people may live hours away from their siblings and only getting to see them them a couple times a year on holidays. I see alot of posts from american young adults being ashamed that they still live with their parents and it's mind boggling, why go through all of that unnecessary struggle living alone when you don't have too? What's the point of living paycheck to paycheck and having to debate on whether to spend your last bucks on food or water? Just to prove that you're a self-sufficient adult? It makes no sense. most of the issues that americans face with the cost of living can be solved if collective living became the cultural norm.

Why is he a friend of Donald Trump while also having a Che Guevara tattoo? And he is a fan of Mao Zedong, too. Is he really a friend of MAGA?

Yes, we know Lula's government is not socialist but he is the strongest standing left-leaning leader in Latin America and our country is fighting against fascism.

On 12 October 1960, Inejirō Asanuma, chairman of the Japan Socialist Party, was assassinated by 17-year-old ultranationalist Otoya Yamaguchi during a televised political debate in Tokyo.
Asanuma was a prominent figure in postwar Japanese socialism, advocating socialism, opposing the US military presence in Japan, and supporting closer relations with the People's Republic of China. In 1959, he visited China and delivered a speech criticizing American imperialism, which he described as the common enemy of the Japanese and Chinese peoples. Despite the growing hostility from right-wing groups following his visit, Asanuma refused offers of a bodyguard, saying, "I am a socialist. It is not necessary," and expressing confidence in the support of the masses.

As far as I understand, the Progressive Labor Party(PLP) advocates skipping the stage of socialism and moving directly to a stateless classless society(communism) because the think that this stage inevitably leads to the rise of revisionism. What is the practical difference between this and the ideology of an ancom who wants to move straight to a stateless classless society for similar reasons? Obviously, ancoms wouldn't call themselves a "party," but since the PLP doesn't want to take state power, they aren't really a party either imo.
Low key this might genuinely be the party of leftest unity
Edit: Edit: I should have been clearer that the bit about the PLP being a party of leftest unity is a joke, especially since I labeled the post as being not saitre(which it isnt)

It began in late May, when fences went up on a protected flamingo wetland at Zvërnec for a Kushner-linked luxury resort.
Tirana has marched every night since, against a system that hands the coast to billionaires, government and opposition alike. They've faced tear gas, water cannon and dozens of arrests, emigrants have come home four times to march with them, and the demand is now a 12-month non-partisan transitional government. Next: students are called out on strike on 13 October.
They call it the Flamingo Revolution.

Workers organizing in collaboration with PSL branches across Iowa & Illinois have won a major victory! Even in spite of their in spite of the local UFCW union's commitment to cooperate with the closure and actively work against demonstrations opposing it from their members. This is really awesome and impressive work we should all be inspired by. Get organized and build worker power through an independent socialist party, comrades!
