Which (potential) follower have you killed and left dead the most?

Post image

Uthgerd is the one I’ve killed the most and never bothered to reload to save her. The first time was when I was playing a wood elf assassin during dark brotherhood. I got to the end to kill Amaund after the Emperor but accidentally alerted her, forcing me to kill her. The second time I killed her was when I fortify restoration looped a 9 billion damage sword for my High elf pirate. I cleared the vampire nest near Morthal with her, but then she came running toward me from the shadows and I thought she was a vampire. She went down in one blow and at that point I hadn’t saved since entering and I was feeling pretty lazy. So I just left her body amongst the vampires.

What's the matter? Can't stand the sight of a strong Nord woman?

5

u/LannaOliver Hunter 1h ago

Being a strong nord woman and an ahole are two very different things.

except she killed a minor

u/beckychao 3h ago

Accidentally, in a voluntary sparring match

She warned them. But no one listened.

Njada Stone Arm. You talk to the Dragonborn and Harbinger that way, we are taking a trip up a snowy mountain.

u/MadamMelody21 1h ago

I hate her but to kill her you need to join the companions which is the worst faction in the game

u/UpboatsORsus 3h ago

I use her early before I get Lydia. Usually make her pick up meridas beacon. My thought process is this is why she never sleeps or goes home.

Accidentally? Lydia.
For boeithiah? Belrand. Just didn’t vibe with em

7

u/Astaro_789 2h ago

Ahtar

Sacrifice him to Boethia since I generally don’t like him for allowing the court wizard vampire to feed on prisoners

And I like to get his unique Battleaxe

u/Ready-Cow-9794 1h ago

Who? The headsman? I didnt know he was a follower. Does he have unique dialogue for places?

4

u/MadamMelody21 1h ago

Only if you do a job for him to kill a nearby bandit leader

u/Randall_the_Mad 3h ago

Lydia, hands down. She spends more time walking to Boethiah's sacrificial pillar, than she does doing anything else, in my playthroughs. I work alone most of the time, and it creeps me out that she stares at me when I sleep at Breezehome.

u/Little-Chef988 3h ago

how dare you sacrifice Lydia you vile being

5

u/Blue_Nipple_Hair 2h ago

So me and my hot werewolf wife can sleep without someone sitting in the cuck chair in the corner

1

u/LannaOliver Hunter 1h ago

You marry Aela? 😆 And have her live in Breezehome? 😆

3

u/Blue_Nipple_Hair 52m ago

No I actually married Ysolda but that’s not as funny of a comment

Me and my hot drug dealer wife?

2

u/LannaOliver Hunter 49m ago

But she's not a werewolf, I'm all for marrying Ysolda, she's the best wife in Skyrim, because if you marry her before playing A Night To Remember, when you do play it, she doesn't throw a jealous fit about your fiancee, she will forgive your 2k debt for the ring if you have high enough speech, and will give you a homemade meal once your dialogue with her is done 😆

1

u/Royal-Koala-163 38m ago

i marry ysolda because she’s genuinely sweet i like her

1

u/Blue_Nipple_Hair 25m ago

I know she’s not a werewolf, I lied in my original comment for the sake of the joke and you’re outing me hard as fuck lmao

I have married Aela before a couple of times, though. I just can’t with the “something has shifted in the moons, brother”

u/MR369 3h ago

"Honored to stare at you my Thane."

u/Brainwave1010 2h ago

Lydia is just the temp until I get to Riften and hire Marcurio.

Bro could 1v1 Aludin without me, straight up Emperor Palpatine-ing fools.

6

u/camronjames 3h ago

She's absorbing your burdens and nightmares, bro.

2

u/lastofdragonborn Dawnstar resident 1h ago

bro ar this point this is blasphemy. i never married Lydia but always protected her.

3

u/perrogamer_attempt2 Werewolf 3h ago

Eola, I just like sacrificing her to Boethia.

8

u/beckychao 3h ago

What?????????????????? She's easily the best non-essential follower in all of Skyrim! She rules! She's Marcurio, but with slightly stronger spells!

1

u/LannaOliver Hunter 57m ago

She doesn't even become my follower, I make her believe I'm joining them and catch them all in one fell swoop, when I'm supposed to kill the priest.

u/perrogamer_attempt2 Werewolf 2h ago

That’s Aela, Eola is the Namira cultist

1

u/vickze 2h ago

AHHHH.. I remember her now. My mistake.

I killed everyone from that Cult. But you took a good decision knowing her past.

u/MasterOku925 3h ago

None really, but your question reminds me a few followers I've had to kill... Shortly after joining the Companions, Uthgerd attacked me right just inside the gate of Whiterun, I tried to play defense cause I was so confused, in the end, she left me no choice...

Erandur, my fave follower, he was fun traveling with, but while diving into a Dwemer ruin, we kept accidentally hitting each other, to the point we were just pissing each other off... then I heard "Once more and I'm going to haft to kill you!" To be honest I was pretty fed up too... during another fight, he backed up into one of those spinny blade traps... killed him. Felt no remorse at that point and it was a "Oh well..." moment for me... The moments this game give you I swear...

u/MudcrabNPC Monk 3h ago

I did the kill/resurrect loop with the Ritual Stone on Sven

3

u/MykonosEros 2h ago

Benor. I only ever recruit him to kill him lmao

5

u/Ph33r-Enigma 3h ago

Erandur. First time to get the daedric achievement. Every time after just because he's so slow, it feels therapeutic after trudging through the temple. I've only kept him alive once, and it was just to see what happens when I let him live.

Stenvar is almost always my choice for Boethiah’s quest

1

u/Molkwi 1h ago

Why I love Stenvar what did he do 😭

1

u/OkIncome7766 40m ago

Me too. Both close to the Boethiah's camp and an ugly follower. I don't miss him when he's dead.

4

u/JoeisKoolas 3h ago

Her lol

4

u/plutosdarling Stealth archer 1h ago

I was going to say Lydia, but then I remembered sometimes I don't buy Breezehome because I don't want her around.

I've never been able to suffer Cicero to live.

2

u/fimbull3 2h ago

Jenassa

2

u/SnooCakes4240 2h ago

For me it would be Uthred and Faendal. Every single play through either one or both of them always dead. If I spent enough time with one I sometimes make proper funeral ceremony for them but if they got accidentally disintegrated then I just forget it

2

u/vickze 2h ago

Forgot about it.

If Delphine was a option I would take her here..

5

u/HandSanitizerBottle1 1h ago

Everyone would for her crimes against Partysnax

3

u/LannaOliver Hunter 1h ago

Not everyone unfortunately, but definitely the greatest majority.

5

u/DemiTheSeaweed Mage 3h ago

I sacrifice Lydia for the ebony armor

2

u/CalypsaMov 2h ago

Serana just by how much time we hang out. "WHERE'D YOU COME FROM?!?" "Serana, no! Our quest is this way. We gotta... Y'know what, you're immortal, just catch up whenever. IDK."

2

u/LannaOliver Hunter 1h ago

She doesn't die though, but her constant complaining about the weather, caves, her "what now?" really makes me wish she wasn't essential.

2

u/CalypsaMov 1h ago

Yeah, but I've effectively left her for dead more times than I can count. She runs off to get pelted by arrows until she respawns next to me whenever I go through a loading screen.

1

u/Livid_Mammoth4034 3h ago

Yeah. Straight to the Soul Cairn with her.

1

u/just_as_good380-2 3h ago

Uthgerd mainly for her armor.

1

u/SignificantZombie729 2h ago

Utthgerd wouldn't let you leave until you have made her shudder uncontrollably, and if you can't deal with that, then the failure is upon you and your house.

1

u/TyloWebb 2h ago

Can’t stand followers anymore, at least vanilla content. All they do is get in the way during combat and traversing indoors. I do miss the extra inventory space however…

u/happyrocket24 2h ago

Anytime I start a heavy armor character I kill her right away

1

u/Sea-Marionberry-6911 1h ago

lydia the amount of times I’ve been in a Dwemer ruin and she falls and dies without me noticing

1

u/SirCory 1h ago

Lydia, oopsies

1

u/Molkwi 1h ago

Also Uthgerd, on many heavy armour builds. You just can't pass up on plate armour like that

1

u/Gloomy-Goose4502 1h ago

I agree, for some reason his lady just dies so much despite wearing seemingly strong armour, she must be super low level because she ends up dying fighting dragons and drugar all the time

1

u/LannaOliver Hunter 1h ago

Her and Njada are my favorite candidates for Boethia...

1

u/Particular_Poet8441 1h ago

I keep her around for an easy accessible dupe glitch

1

u/Artsy_traveller_82 1h ago

Probably Faendal.

1

u/Goldman250 53m ago

Uthgerd is usually one of my most common early kills. Steel plate at lower levels is much better than whatever I’ve got on, so sadly she dies when I’m going and clearing out places like Halted Stream Camp.

1

u/Inward_Perfection 28m ago

I always play solo. So usually Jenassa, Faendal, or J'zargo, to get the Ebony Mail. I go to Black-Briar masion for an early steel plate cuirass, so Uthgerd gets to live.

1

u/Dylakaies 28m ago

Oddly enough, I've never really left a follower to die. I did do that one daedric quest that requires you kill a follower, and I think I chose some random annoying elf guy. This playthrough though, I've been using cheat room and amazing follower tweaks. So I've got Roggvir, Uthgerd, Belrand, the blind thief in that cave near Windhelm, serana, an armored troll, one of the dawnguard huskies, and the wandering bard guy. Really funny watching them jump a draugr overlord while I'm too weak to take him on myself.

1

u/RepresentativeLong75 3h ago

Sven his Mom was rude to me so killed him and his mom while they slept.

1

u/Stardust_Kitsune 2h ago

I sacrifice Faendal to Boethia each and every playthrough. 😌 it’s part of my religion. 🙏

1

u/buckandduck1221 1h ago

Lydia, she gits in the way of my spells way to much and it gets to a point where I just leave her behind and wait for the 90 gold coming my way.

0

u/phokingmu 3h ago

Lydia. Ruined the oblivion walker achievement for me, she doesn't live long on and playthrough after that.

2

u/22lpierson 3h ago

How'd she ruin it?

3

u/phokingmu 3h ago

Randomly got aggressive and she killed Eola during taste of death and I only realized the ramifications far past a save file

1

u/22lpierson 3h ago

Oh I thought she killed Barbas pr something

2

u/Jentott 2h ago

Barbas is actually invincible until you make the decision on the axe. He’s great to bring on any expeditions that will be a pain in the ass since he also draws aggro and can’t go down

0

u/Viper_595 3h ago

Lydia, ... sorry any ranged build she is in danger. Either from you yourself, or the fact she is mele and often will "Leroy Jenkins" a stealth mission. And get herself killed. ... The bigger question is...Why The Hell is Rollf Stone Hands un-killable!!!!!!. Dude needs to face way more pain and suffering than a fist beat down.

0

u/Gospel85 2h ago

I left her dead at the bottom of labyrinthian. She fell in battle against morokei.....and my elemental blast magic.....but...ok i "might" have killed her on accident....it was TOTALLY and accident.....i swear!

0

u/All_cats 1h ago

Lydia. Dozens of times. I get a little jumpy. Bonus: I got super good at saving before we got into any conflicts because she kept scaring the shit out of me with her frequent cosplay (most notably that time she put on the cultist mask I asked her to carry) and ending up dead.

Cicero………fuck that clown. Literally…

9

u/ilikegh0sts 3h ago

He's probably my favorite character. If you read the hints into the game lore, he is actually the "correct" / "honorable" choice in the DB questline.

3

u/MykonosEros 3h ago

Well, if you say so!

0

u/HandSanitizerBottle1 1h ago

I don’t use followers other than Serana, and thats mostly because she’s forced
