Lol. Classic.

Yeah the start it supposed to be a scripted experience, and when it works, it's one of the best openings in gaming history. Super iconic, super well developed... They put months and months of work into it trying to get everything just right.

But uh... Not all the entities were as tethered as intented.

The horse is certainly one of them. It's not supposed to be there, and can even clip over Hadvar's face making him Horsevar, Hadvar with a horse head 😆

Sometimes NPCs in the town can break their tether too and default to generic behaviour, which doesn't fit the scene.

And another well known unintended effect is that bees can flip the carriages over upon collision - that was is devastatingy janky.

It was all developed with a dynamic environment in mind - which is great, except for these scenes.

And, for all the activity packages they're given, the AI still isn't very smart. Active sure, reactive, ehhh.....little limited.

Don't forget the bee thing can happen on pretty high frame rates as well.

I've seen plenty of versions of this but it has yet to happen to me in any of my thousands of playthroughs. Do you use mods? I've never used mods so maybe that might be what causes it?

It's vanilla I want to finish it unmodded at least once

I still love it unmodded. Been playing vanilla since 2011.

Same.
Hell, I play on both Xbox and PC with a bunch of mods and never had that issue.

It happens with fps shenanigans, it messes with the physics

Really? This happens half the time I do the vanilla intro.

Hadvar's horse is really friendly.

It's not a bug, it's a feature.

In all seriousness, it is just an odd glitch that happens on occasion. Bethesda can release this game 20 times over again and still not iron out some of the most basic problems

The horse knows that you are dragonborn.
