So I bought my gaming pc from a pc builder last month, i noticed the carbice ice pad was not used by them and remained in the packet. What should I do, should I go in after a period of time to remove the thermal paste and use the ice pad

how long is thermal paste supposed to last?

Edit: forgot to mention, I have a 5800x3d and a cooler master 620s cooler

Can you recommend any software that I can use to record cpu and gpu temperatures, graphs and maximums that I can use over a range of gaming sessions?

thinking so why not Ryzen 9 9950x3d with 32 ram and 5080 and x870 motherboard especially for gta 6 and streaming and apex solid 300 fps on 2k and (beginner at ai videos and montage) but it will be for extra which I can afford but it will effect another things I wanna do, so my point is, will Ryzen 9 be worth to upgrade with this specs? Or should I stick with the Ryzen 7 9850x3d or I won’t get the max performance of 9950 as the guy I’m building the pc with told we need a better motherboard to get the best performance of the Ryzen 9 and 64 ram, is true ? And what if only for gaming will still the Ryzen 9 better on the specs, I will buy today my build

I have heard that they r same speed but when boost 9850 is faster but honestly I won’t boost I want the cpu to last for long time as much as possible and I will use it with 5080 and 32 ram, and I want to play apex legends 300 fps solid on 2k also while streaming in twitch, so is still worth it to get the 9850x3d? Pls advice and also gta 6 preparing for it!

I’d like some objective, somewhat in-depth information regarding a CPU upgrade from my current 7700 to a 9800X3D (paired with a 5070 Ti GPU and 32GB of DDR5 6000MHz RAM).

I play video games and edit videos in DaVinci Resolve—projects that are quite complex and time-consuming (some clips run 30–60 minutes), involving facecam and microphone audio. Everything works perfectly right now, but I’m still interested in a potential upgrade—provided there are actual benefits.

I’m not necessarily asking where the difference will be immediately noticeable—since the perceptible gain might be small—but I am curious about where the 9800X3D actually improves upon my standard 7700. Is it regarding frame stutters, raw processing power, or something else? Will the difference be felt in gaming, in DaVinci Resolve, or while recording with OBS (using the camera and mic)?

Ryzen 5 9600x extremely good performance in oblivion remastered with engine.ini tweaks. The CPU is actually much faster than 7600x if you tweak it for its strength. If you tweak it the gameplay become extremely smooth and snappy. This is on a bloated windows install os not reinstalled after mother board swap but performance is still very impressive.

Oblivion remastered is one of the most brutal games on CPU. I had 5800x which choked in this game and cannot do 60 fps. The game is an unoptimized mess but it is good CPU stress test. 9600x handles it with ease.

Hi there. My plan is to buy the next generation from AMD or Nvidia (UDNA 5 and Nvidia's "Ruby").

My current PC:

Processor: Ryzen 5600X

Graphics card: AMD 6700XT

32GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM

1TB SSD + 512GB SSD

2TB HDD

Corsair 850W Gold PSU

Here is my dilemma: considering that the AM5 platform might become unviable in the coming years (by 2030 at the earliest) due to AI contracts and inflation, is it a good idea to buy it now for €350 and stick with it until AM6 arrives? Or should I wait to see how it performs—accepting the risk that AM4 parts might become overpriced due to low stock (on the used market) or simply unavailable?
