I folks. I have an old .22 Single Six my dad got me when I was a young kid years and years ago. Haven't shot it in forever though. After he passed and I was still fairly young and didn't know much about this stuff, I was worried about the cylinder play and didn't want to risk it. Then I just kinda forgot about it.
Now, though, I'd like to take it out (after a very long overdue cleaning) but want to ask if this is a normal feature of this particular pistol. I'm preeeeety sure I know the answer, but want to be 100% sure before I pull the trigger.
When the cylinder gate is open, the cylinder seems to free float, meaning you have to line it up with the plunger to eject brass. When it's closed however, the cylinder turns and locks up in line with chamber, so I don't see it being out of alignment and potentially exploding during during battery.
I'm hoping its good because I remember it being an incredibly fun little pistol to plink with.
