We finally got our diablo-puzzle-game on Steam

Post image
• Upvotes

Just this summer I was working at Ubisoft Barcelona on Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. After the recent layoffs, I, and 50 others on my team found ourselves without a job.

Rather than stepping away from game development, we're now building our own indie studio.

Our first game is Puzzle Mage. We're big fans of ICO and Diablo, so we built an ARPG with a twist: instead of combat, you solve magic puzzles. It draws inspiration from games like Ico, Magicka, Magic: The Gathering, and Diablo.

Its still early, but if you would like to support us, you can wishlist the game here: Puzzle Mage

I made a JezzBall-style puzzle where trapping the bouncing dots turns the board into a Mondrian

I never got past level 7 in JezzBall as a kid, so this is my vengeance. A JezzBall puzzle I can actually beat, with a Mondrian waiting at the end.

You draw lines to trap the bouncing dots, and every space you close off gets painted red, yellow, blue or white. If a dot hits a line before the line has finished growing, the line snaps and you lose one of your spare lines. Once three quarters of the board is painted, the game names the picture after its colours, the way Mondrian titled his. This one came out as "Composition No. 1 with Red, Yellow, and Blue".

So I can exert my dominance over the whole world, everyone gets the same board each day, with three tries. The dots start exactly the same way every time, so a failed try actually teaches you something, and by the third one I'm usually planning my cuts instead of just reacting.

It's in beta on TestFlight (for iPhone's and iPad's) at playcomposition.com/get, and the full version will be one purchase with no ads. Today's board also plays free in the browser at playcomposition.com.

How far did you get in JezzBall back then? How far do you get in this one?

I made FORM, a browser puzzle app where you have to work things out yourself

• Upvotes

I've been building FORM for myself because I wanted a reason to sit with a difficult problem instead of reaching for a tool as soon as I got stuck.

Some puzzles ask you to rotate a shape in your head. Others ask you to work out which conclusion follows from a few facts, or spot what changes when a rule switches. It's an experimental brain-training app, with scores for your performance in the games.

A few testers liked the rotation puzzles but found the wordier ones too much like homework. I'm working on that, and I'd like to hear from people who already enjoy puzzles: which game would you actually come back to?

https://formpuzzles.com

The free preview is 12 rounds and doesn't need an account. Saving the result and playing personal practice requires sign-up; difficulty then adjusts as you play. Built with AI coding assistance.

I made this app because I’ve been playing a lot of varied logic puzzles for years - none of which I found in one app. It’s been a project I’ve been working on since July, released in September and after today’s update finally feels ready to share

Would love some feedback: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/logic-puzzles/id6798379597

I made Puzzle Salon — Sudoku, color Nonograms, and Queens in one Android app

Hi everyone! I’m a solo developer who loves logic puzzles, and I recently released my game, Puzzle Salon.

I like settling into a puzzle without having my concentration interrupted, but forced ads in the games I played kept frustrating me. That was what got me started on making something I’d enjoy playing myself :)

Puzzle Salon brings three types of puzzles together:
• Sudoku, including several variants
• Nonograms, including color puzzles
• Queens, where you place crowns according to row, column, and colored-region rules

There are also different visual themes and skins to make the boards feel more personal.

I’ve spent a lot of time working on it, and I’d love to hear what other puzzle players think. If you try it, feedback on the controls, difficulty, or anything that feels awkward would be really appreciated. Just giving it a play would mean a lot, too!

There are no forced ads; rewarded ads are optional.

Gameplay video:

Google Play (Android):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.doubleeo.puzzlesalon

Thanks for taking a look! Happy to answer any questions.

I made a cozy logic puzzle where you find the perfect spot for every cat: one per row, column and color, and they can't touch

**Gameplay video:** https://youtube.com/shorts/bwyTNLlj0zE

Hi everyone! I'm the developer of **Purrzle**, which I just released, a cozy logic puzzle game for Android.

**The rules fit in one breath:**

- one cat in every row and every column

- one cat in every colored region

- cats need personal space, so no two can touch, not even diagonally

If you've played Queens or Star Battle, you already know it. Every board has exactly one solution and you never have to guess.

**What I tried to do differently:**

- **Hints that teach.** Instead of just revealing a cell, a hint tells you *why* ("the sky region has only one open cell left"). I wanted people to get better, not just get unstuck.

- **Cats you collect.** 12 original round little cats, a new one every 10 levels, each with a little personality ("Squints suspiciously at hints"). Later you can design your own cat in a Cat Studio, and your partner cat can even become the app icon.

- **Lots of puzzles.** 5,000 levels in 45 chapters from 5×5 to 10×10, plus a daily puzzle with streaks.

- **Zen mode** with no hearts and no timer, for when you just want to relax.

- **Fair ads.** There are no in-app purchases. Ads only show between levels, never in the middle of a puzzle, and the extra-hint/heart ads are optional.

- Colour-blind patterns, left-handed layout, TalkBack labels, dark mode, and it plays offline.

The game text is English-only for now, but the puzzles don't need words. If you'd like it in your language, tell me which one; that's next on my list.

It's free on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.logiratech.purrzle

I'd really love feedback, especially on the difficulty curve (does it ramp too slowly or too fast?) and whether the hints make sense. I'll be around in the comments. 🐱

We desperately need some input from people who like difficult puzzle games!

Me and my best friend have recently released a demo for our puzzle horror game House of Echoes. Unlike many other games in the genre who focus more on the horror element and less on the puzzles (not saying that's wrong at all!) our game is quite different. While horror elements are there, we have focused on making unique and quite difficult puzzles. This is meant to be a game for puzzle enthusiasts looking for a challenge, but we're also afraid it might be too difficult or have too few indications for the player to go by.

I'd figured this is the place to look for people who want a challenge in puzzle games, so if anybody is interested in giving us some feedback on the difficulty of the demo, here's a link for House of Echoes on Steam

You can write your feedback on our Discord or here, either public or contact us in private, either way is fine and very much appreciated! 😄

We made a 3D arrow puzzle where the route continues around the corner — free on Android

Post image
0 Upvotes

We’re BESTFing Store, the developer of Arrows Unfurled 3D. It just launched on Android.

The arrows wind across the faces of solid 3D maps. Rotate the map, trace a route, and clear the arrows that have room to escape. As you progress, wrapped edges, direction tiles and moving sections make you look beyond the face in front of you.

The first book includes 500 arrow layouts across 50 shapes. There are cosmetic skins and solution replays, too.

Free to install, with ads and optional in-app purchases:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bestfingstore.arrowdrift.premium

Gameplay trailer: https://youtu.be/CGasXxmBSRs

We’d love feedback from puzzle players on route readability and the difficulty progression.

I made a mobile mystery game where the puzzles are hidden inside chats, websites, files and photos

Thumbnail

Hi! I’m the solo developer of The Survivors: Mystery Story, a mobile mystery game built around investigation and puzzle-solving.

Instead of traditional puzzle rooms, most of the puzzles are integrated into the story itself — you might need to search a website, inspect a photo, connect information from different chats, find a password from clues, or notice a contradiction in a file.

The story follows Hazem, who wakes up after a 10-year coma following an explosion that killed 86 people. Five people survived that night, and figuring out what really happened means piecing together their stories.

The game currently has 4 chapters and is available in English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French and German.

If you enjoy mystery games where the puzzles feel like part of the investigation rather than separate mini-games, you might enjoy it. ❤️

I’m also curious what kind of investigation puzzles you enjoy most in games — visual clues, passwords, deduction, searching through documents, or something else?

Making water should be simple. In my game you have to build the whole factory for it

Hi all, im making Atom By Atom, a factory automation game about building molecules.

There is a free demo on Steam now if you want to try it. I would love to hear what you think!
Atom By Atom - free demo on Steam

This is an earlier gameplay clip of a water production line. You bring the atoms together in bonders and route the molecules through the factory. Getting the right atoms is one thing, but the way they connect matters too.

The goal is to deliver the molecules that the black hole asks for. You decide how to arrange the machines and routes, then see if it actually works.

The free demo for my sort-it-by-ear puzzle game is out. Here's how the shelf tells you where a tape goes.

Post image
1 Upvotes

I posted Hearsay here a few weeks ago, and thanks to everyone who commented. The free demo is out today: 14 real Library of Congress recordings, cut into unlabeled tapes. You place each tape by ear and the shelf answers green, yellow or red. About 30 to 45 minutes. Link in the comments.

Free demo on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5274720/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=puzzlevideogames

AI disclosure: I used an AI coding assistant for programming. There's no AI art, music or voice: the art is purchased, and every recording is a real Library of Congress archive.

Ramio, Rummikub with playing cards (a.k.a. Manipulation Rummy): you solve each puzzle by rearranging the cards already on the table

Ramio is Rummikub played with playing cards, a traditional game known as Manipulation Rummy. You have a few cards in hand and a table full of groups. The goal is to play every card from your hand, and the trick is that you can move the cards already on the table: break a group, rebuild it elsewhere, borrow a card, as long as every group is valid when you confirm.

There are only two kinds of groups: a run of 3 or more consecutive cards in one suit, or 3 to 4 cards of the same rank in different suits.

You can try one puzzle in your browser, no install, no sign-up: https://quintaingames.com/ramio/defi/?defi=18i62en&couleurs=4&src=reddit-puzzlevideogames

If that one is too easy, this is the last puzzle of the last chapter: https://quintaingames.com/ramio/defi/?defi=1nd6qx3&couleurs=4&kit=arctique&src=reddit-puzzlevideogames

The game came out on October 8 and is free on Android and iPhone. It has 1,212 puzzles, 490 of them in a seven-chapter campaign that gets harder, plus online games for 2 to 4 players and solo games against the computer that work offline.

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ramio&referrer=utm_source%3Dreddit-puzzlevideogames

iPhone: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6788317282

My family has played the original card game for years, with two real decks. It goes by many names: Manipulation Rummy, Räuber-Rommé in Germany, Machiavelli in Italy, Mexe-Mexe in Brazil.

I'm the author of the game. Is the rule clear from the video alone, or does it need the two paragraphs above?

I built a daily puzzle where the timer counts down from the best time anyone posted today. Compete the world!

Post image
3 Upvotes

TRIAD is a 6x6 grid with 3 symbols (△›○›□). Fill it so every row and column balances and a few arrow clues check out. One puzzle a day, three difficulties.

The timer counts down from the best time anyone has posted that day, so you’re always racing a real record.

It’s live and still early, with few players so far. I’d like to know if it’s fun and if anything feels off.
