STAY CLEAN OCTOBER! This thread updated daily - Check in here!
Daily news: This is Monday, October 12, the twelfth day of the Stay Clean October challenge. Keep fighting the good fight!
THE COUNTDOWN: Attention everyone! You have 3 days to make an update comment (if you haven't already) to be counted as an active participant! Otherwise your name will be REMOVED from the list on 10/15!!
Guidelines:
- At the end of this post is a list of people who have signed up for the challenge, and who are still in the running. That means that they have not needed to reset because of a relapse or slip.
- Please check in with the group in the comments as often as you want! Feel free to share thoughts, feelings, experiences, progress, wisdom, encouragement and whatever else!
- IMPORTANT: if you relapse, please post a comment to that effect here and I will remove your name from the list. We will not judge you or shame you, we have all been there.
- If you have a "~" after your name, you have yet to check in on any update threads. If it is still there by October 15th, you will be removed from the list, in order to keep the numbers as realistic as possible.
- We will not be accepting any new participants, but even if you're not on the list, please feel free to check in in the update threads anyway! Also, stay tuned to catch the November thread!
Good luck!
For a chart of relapse data, check out this Google Spreadsheet.
There are currently 534 out of 576 original participants. That's 93%. Here is the list of participants still with the challenge:

Checking in. Feeling good. My mental health is definitely better when I’m not looking at porn all day. Who knew?!? 🤣

Checking in. Life feels a lot better without porn, even after this short time. Outdoor work is the best antidote for porn addiction.

I'm out :(
This is the 2nd time this year I've relapsed at ~3.5 months. It's like a get to this place where I feel "healed", and decide I'll be fine if I let my guard down. It's a conscious decision, and it's always in response to marital issues and a sex life which barely exists. I feel trapped in that sense because I love my wife, but that makes all this even harder for me.

Seven months away from porn is awesome. This is a temporary setback. You’re doing great!

So far so good. I’ve been keeping the FASTER acronym in mind all month and have found it so helpful to keep myself in check. Pasted it below if helpful for anyone else.
“FASTER” is an acronym for Forgetting Priorities, Anxiety, Speeding Up, Ticked Off, Exhausted, and Relapse.

Going for the update of the week. A bit was overtaken by work plus well a new event kicked off an anxiety issue so expect that thing along with body issues resolves well with fortune. Definitely health and work as a sector remains priority.
Apart from that the week was pretty much the same with focus on routines.
I do need the +ve vibes especially for work and health; something I would be immensely grateful for.
Nevertheless I'll go back to my bit hope all is well there

Checking in on 11.10.
Had a wild september and now it seems to be going way easier in october. Lot of stuff that distracts me from being "tempted".
Keep moving, fellow fighters.

Checking in. Man I'm struggling. Not to resist porn, just in general. Slept like shit the last days and identified a huge trigger for me. My wife rejected me and I can't cope with it well. I remembered that in the past I would PMO out of spite when this happened. This was the first time she rejected me since I've committed to quitting porn and of course I don't blame her at all but it just hurts so bad. Anyways, I'll try to deal with these emotions in a more productive manner and catch up some sleep. Stay strong everyone.

Reset. Not in the challenge, but still here cheering yall on!! Im not falling back in!!!
Im proud to say when a certain "sports" add came up on TV I kept my composure and looked away. On top of that didn't feel bad, or like i missed out not watching it. I feel im making progress on not craving, or wanting as much to abuse porn.

u/BoatEnough1538 4d ago
Still in. I have been tempted a lot today..mainly because I have terrible self-esteem. Running to porn is the easiest thing when I am constantly feeling like I do not deserve a girlfriend, and I know life is more than that, but I want companionship too. My self esteem is so low that I feel like I have to accomplish a million things just to deserve to be in a woman’s presence but I’m still fighting back
2
u/Glass-Mobile-4550 4d ago
Try to just chop the wood in front of you. Focus as best you can just on this, trying to take on everything all at once will get really overwhelming really fast. And be proud of yourself for fighting back, always give yourself that affirmation because that's the true test of your character.

It has been a very emotional day so far. I am not very good at regulating my emotions and most of the time I relapse as a way of escaping them.

Checking in. It’s been exactly 9 months since I started this journey. No turning back.
