I don’t think they can claim it because it’s also already used by all sorts of people when referring to mixed-gender children of their own siblings (ie gender-neutral for nieces and nephews)

I hate "niblings" for so many reasons, if I typed it out it'd be "Thanks for coming to my TedRant" We have so many options, and all of them better, including for gender neutral instances 😤
