Fearing for their life from a fucking baby donkey. If you're that scared of a donkey, you have no business owning a gun, let alone being a cop.

If you fear for your life over farm animals, how about not illegally trespassing on a GD farm!!

So these two AHs trespassed, knowing they would shoot to kill any animal that scared them.

936

u/tew2109 Sep 01 '26

Like, what the hell did you expect? Farm animals react when you break onto their property. THEY are where they're supposed to be. My dog is very protective and handles it...okay if someone I invite comes in with me, but she loses her entire mind if someone is standing outside the window. If someone came into the property in her mind uninvited, she'd go nuts. All this poor donkey did was bray - who the fuck is scared because a baby donkey is braying?

109

u/tew2109 Sep 01 '26

And I'm no hypocrite about this - I'm not scared of donkeys, lol, I actually think I was born without the "DANGER!" gene when it comes to animals I probably SHOULD be scared of, which I wouldn't include donkeys in that category (I love donkeys). Most moms if they encounter a bear on a hike will probably tell their kids not to scream. Mine had to tell me "That's not a teddy bear, you can't just go hug it" (I was five). But I am scared of people. I have CPTSD due to severe trauma in childhood. I do not think I have any business owning a gun. I can apologize if I pepper spray the wrong person - not so much if I SHOOT AND KILL THEM. I have not, in fact, ever sprayed the wrong person, but with a gun, it only takes once.

Omg are you me?! I was also the kid who had to be told repeatedly that wild animals aren’t pets and I’m not a Disney princess. In my defense, they were friend shaped and I was only bitten once where blood was drawn.

But that time was a doozy. I ended up needing to get rabies shots. Each time, my parents would make sure I remembered that this is what could happen if you mess with wild animals.

29

u/tew2109 Sep 01 '26

I saw a moose in Canada - I was about three so I only remember seeing the moose, but apparently I called my mom and said there was a "moosh" outside and when she was like ???? , I said "It's Bullwinkle!" LOL. I got lucky tbh in happening to not run to it and try to hug it, because I know now that moose can be aggressive. It was HUGE. It was like a furry dinosaur.

My mom's way of getting through to me was usually that I could hurt the animal if I approached it. Like, feeding wild alligators is dangerous to them. Since I had no sense that animals could harm me, lol, she was able to convince me that I could harm them by getting too close.

having grown up on and around farms, do I fear for my life around a bull esp if he's separated from his herd?? FUCKING YES.

SO I DON'T GO IN HIS FUCKING FIELD

27

u/roguevirus Sep 01 '26

Why would the bull be more dangerous of he's away from his herd? I would have guessed he'd be more aggressive if he was around the ladies.

Either way, rule #1 of going to a farm is don't cross a fence if you don't know what is on the other side of it. These two cops were freaking idiots.

30

u/CaseyRC Sep 01 '26

i meant if they're in season but not being bred, so he can smell them but can't get to them. I've been in a field during that, and NEVER AGAIN. I've never run so fast in my life. I had to be in the field, and he was up the other end, so we figured it'd be okay for the short time i had to be physically in the same field, but nope. he was NOT having a bit of it.

I wouldn't trespass on farmland because I know about bulls. Anyone else with any sense would also be thinking about not pissing off a bull when thinking about needing to search a pasture. A full grown donkey can also do real damage. Any horse or donkey can kick or bite you. Some of them like to bite down on your shoulder and throw you to the ground if you're an asshole.

Trespassing on land with livestock is a bad idea.

Why are these two dumb asses allowed guns?

They could have gone and woke up the farmer and this would never have happened. She would have been able to put her donkey in the barn, and probably would have great knowledge of where to search on her property.

Most don’t.

I knew a kid from high school who became a cop at 21.

At 17, 4 years before, he tried to pressure a girl at our school in the bathroom upstairs to give him a blowjob. When she didn’t, he beat her and had to have 2 football players rush in there and kick his ass off of her.

Those football players had their tires slashed the next week.

Wonder who did that?

Fuck you, Cody.

Plus it’s a baby product so odds are pretty good that you’ll be dealing with someone that has a kid or baby with them. No sane person goes into that situation thinking they’re ok just shooting at someone.

Someone crowbarred their way into my third-floor apartment in the middle of the day and stole a ton of things, including my grandmother’s jewelry, which wasn’t worth any money but had huge sentimental value to me. I asked the cops what they’d do and how to follow up with them, and they straight-up told me they wouldn’t be looking into it.

Not to mention he should never have entered the pasture without permission, they were not in pursuit of a criminal. I own horses and I don’t even know how I’d react if it was one of mine and they’re full sized.

445

Also unarmed people of color and the mentally ill. They are disproportionately the victims of extrajudicial murder by the star funded armed carceral force who, thanks to the supreme court, aren't under any legal obligation to serve and protect AKA doing their fucking jobs.

Also, it should not take more training to become a hair stylist than it does to become a cop. Ittakes a lawyer 2 years of post BS coursework and a very difficult exam to practice law. Why are armed people to enforcing it when they're getting, at most, a few months of education/training.

114

like Elijah McClain, the young black man killed by Aurora, Colorado police officers in 2019 for simply walking down the street. Some of his last words were "Why are you attacking me? I don't even kill flies! I don't eat meat! You all are phenomenal. You are beautiful and I love you. Try to forgive me.” He also played the violin to kitties in shelters so they wouldn't be lonely. this has always been insane to me. your literal job is to remain calm under stress, or at least that's allegedly the idea.

i live in new york city and yesterday, a guy followed me in a subway station. i was scared, but guess what i did - i de-escalated and removed myself from the situation. even if i had a gun, i wouldn't have shot the guy.

it's always been completely baffling and sickening to me that so many people hired to supposedly protect and help others can so easily take someone's life. and then they return to work like nothing happened? i would need to be institutionalized for months if i had to shoot and kill someone, even in self defense. but these psychopaths just get right back to wielding their guns.

And I say it every time, they need to be held to a higher standard, because it's their job. they're supposed to receive training and resources to be cooler under pressure than the average citizen. Not wildly different than how I don't expect a hair stylist to risk their life, but I do expect a firefighter to risk theirs to do their job. it's so goddamn frustrating

15

u/WineNerdAndProud Sep 01 '26

I can fully promise you these people believe they're trained/capable of doing the job and they're not going to lose their cool right up to the point where the acorn hits the car.

Then the panic they're "trained" to anticipate and counter kicks in and they immediately buckle and start shooting.

It's almost as if a couple months of training isn't enough to prepare someone for the legal use of force and these guys are just a bunch of open carry cowboys dreaming of the day trespassers walk on to their property unannounced so they can "stand their ground".

You know, trespassers like the cops who trespassed on this property.

I'm from NW Georgia and y'all, the cops here dont give a fuck about anyone, human or creature. They only care about money and they're all crooked. They harass people, like when I got pulled over for having "bright lights on" and they asked if I had been drinking even though my brights weren't on and the cop made me prove to him they weren't on! I had Jeep Liberty, it just had brighter lights than most cars...anyways that's just one story of them being dicks. Around those parts you stay scared of cops and yet for whatever reason people still drive around with their trucks and sticker on the back that says "back the blue".

I'm so sorry for this family. They didn't deserve this. No creature deserve to die at the hands of these imbeciles.

63

Well that's because they hope having that sticker excludes them from whatever bullshit GA cops bring.

Having traveled a great deal around the US, I can say GA cops are among the absolute worst. Vile scumbags with no regard for anyone or anything. They are militant shit bags. The only prerequisites to becoming a GA cop is hate in your heart and a willingness to do grave harm.

In The Watchmen series on HBO the police have to get clearance to unlock their firearms from inside their police cruiser. I’m starting to think that’s not a bad idea.

94

u/Consistent-Shoe-9602 Sep 01 '26

Seems like too many police officers in the US are scared little snowflakes who are ready to emplty the clip into anything that moves or makes a sound. Fearing for their life is just an appalling cop out.

83

u/AdministrationFun775 Sep 01 '26

If I entered a field where a baby donkey was, I would smother it in kisses. If it ran at me, knocked me over or did anything to defend itself I would be embarrassed and hope my colleagues didn't capture any footage of it. American cops are so serious about the wrong things it's ridiculous.

Police departments. People funding their own oppression. Tax funded gun toting mavericks, most of whom are sociopathic failed high school bullies, who by the way, the Supreme Court has affirmed has NO LEGAL DUTY TO SERVE OR PROTECT THE PUBLIC, AND THAT ANY MOTTOS AS SUCH ARE NOT LEGALLY BINDING.

Police exist to protect property and to hold those of lower income classes to a set of laws that the rich are not.

31

u/AnguavonUW Sep 01 '26

An inadequately trained, state funded, carceral force which routinely commits extrajudicial murder disproportionately against people of color and the mentally ill.

Reminds me of the video I saw of a police officer jump someone's fence and shoot their dog. Apparently the house owner was burning stuff.

When the officer told him he was attacked the home owners response was "youre in his yard."

Fucking revolting.

Abolish police unions.

Abolish the police.

If we need a new system we build it separately. We don't transfer a single cop over without intensive screening and reeducation.

You can't cut the rot out when it's infected the whole root. After the bad apples spoil the bunch, you have to get new apples.

it’s crazy how civilians are expected to react calmly and perfectly when approached by a GED with a gun, but they fear for their life at just about everything

29

u/blankblank Sep 01 '26

Cops spend so much time talking about their own safety and their own “reasonable fear.” Yet the job cannot be made perfectly safe. It’s an inherently unsafe job. Meanwhile there are jobs that are even less safe that complain less, like cab drivers and loggers.

Why are they even this on edge while looking for a missing person? What if the missing person stumbled out of the farm or woods scared and disoriented. What would have this trigger happy cop done then?

9

u/effie-sue Sep 01 '26

Not a missing person.

A MISSING CHILD. A 12 year-old girl.

This sounds like a damn farm nightmare. Armed pigs enter a private pasture, approached by a bottle raised baby donkey, and kill said donkey because they “fear for their lives”.

If a BABY FARM ANIMAL SCARES YOU TO THE POINT YOU FEAR FOR YOUR LIFE, DON’T GO ON PRIVATE PASTURE LAND.

23

Police academies should do scare tests. If a little donkey scares you, you have no business holding a gun.

9

u/usernaaaamme Sep 01 '26

Police academies should require years of training in de-escalation, and should stop literally screening out intelligent people.

Christ, I wish I hadn’t seen this this morning. Brought me to tears. Fuckers.

12

u/saltymilkmelee Sep 01 '26

Is anyone at all surprised? Cops are the biggest pussies imaginable. They're scared of acorns. They're scared to do their job at Uvalde. They're scared of a children's petting zoo. The job attracts spineless cowards. The only reason people become cops is to pretend to have power over someone else (until it gets fixed in court by the people who actually know the law). They arent heroes, and they know that. They also know that we know. Thats also why they hate firemen. They're jealous of the real heroes.

12

u/archercc81 Sep 01 '26

I love that were supposed to pretend cops are these super heros and brave soldiers of christ while also dismissing when they go around murdering people because an acorn fell on their shoulder.

Also, cedartown is in the middle of fucking nowhere, they can claim its a fucking war zone.

12

Bad guy with a gun? Baby donkey? Same thing.

10

u/Friendly-World-5273 Sep 01 '26

They are trained to shoot anything and everything and claim “fearing for my life yulk yulk” and as long as they get away with it they will continue to do so. I’m sure the missing person was armed and dangerous as well because all people at all times are, of course.

8

u/Key_Check5753 Sep 01 '26

So the police trespassed on another person's property, shot, and killed their family pet?

How many felonies is that? At least 3.

9

u/Tehwheelzzz Sep 01 '26

They entered private property without a warrant then shot and killed a private citizen property. They need to be barred from ever being police again, and they county should be sued to hell and back. This is not how America operates, this is how the IDF and this administration operates.

9

u/littlebruise Sep 01 '26

Can someone who knows donkeys explain if there was literally any danger to their life at all? Like they can’t bite and a baby can’t even trample you. Am I missing something?

27

u/effie-sue Sep 01 '26 edited Sep 01 '26

Hee-Haw was a year-old miniature donkey. Minis are no more than 3' tall at the withers (base of the neck) when fully grown. They could knock over and possibly trample a small child, but not a healthy, full-grown adult human.

Having been raised since infancy by humans, Hee-Haw was likely quite friendly to everyone. While it's possible he charged at the officers in a protective manner, I'd imagine he was just excited to have visitors.
