The Judge that signed that warrant needs to be disbarred. For a warrant to be valid, there needs to be probable cause that a crime was committed AND that evidence of the crime exists at that location. The latter is such a stretch as to point to judicial malpractice.

Assuming they even got a warrant to do it.
This is intimidation, and this administration doesn't care about the process of law. The point isn't to try arrest her (though that would be a bonus) All they care about is intimidating people that opposes them.

As long as Fox viewers can share a post on FB saying she was raided, their mission was successful in their eyes.
They've never needed a shred of evidence to make the most ludicrous claims, so having an actual raid emboldens all the people that have called her treasonous, even if there is still not an ounce of evidence.
19
u/SpaceGangsta Utah 11h ago
I was able to listen to Jack Smith speak on Saturday night here in Utah. He had a lot of very interesting things to say(on things he was allowed to speak on). One was that this current administrations use of the DOJ is 100% in violation of the 5th amendment(due process). They’re targeting political opponents and manufacturing charges against them(even lying to courts) in order to prosecute them in the court of public opinion. It doesn’t matter what comes of it in the courts. Only that they get present who “you” are in their own words.
So it’s important to let your actions and words show who you really are.

They've never needed a shred of evidence to make the most ludicrous claims
I would go further: intimidating and punishing her despite a lack of a warrant and lack of evidence is preferred. Scaring the loud brown lady into shutting up and knowing her place is the open purpose. "Evidence" and "warrants" are the legal process - this isn't about the legal process. This is about showing her how she "deserves" to be treated.

We know that ICE/DHS makes extensive use of administrative warrants - what are the chances they actually went to a judge for this one? The very idea that DHS could conduct a nighttime raid on a sitting Congresswoman's home, over allegedly misfiled childhood immigration paperwork, beggars belief. That they would do it using an administrative warrant would be just icing on the cake.
Edit: HSI allegedly obtained a judicial warrant for the search.

My guess is that they have an administrative warrant and not a judicial one.
But I mean, what is the law to a group that either ignores them or thinks they are above them anyway?
edit: ok then...I stand corrected. There is absolutely a judge that needs to be let go.
The Department of Justice, in a statement to Fox News, said, “Today in the Washington, D.C., area, Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice.”

The Judge that signed that warrant needs to be disbarred
Assuming it's a federal district judge that signed the warrant that wouldn't do anything. First, because you don't need to be an attorney to be a federal judge. Second, because district judges serve for life and the only way to remove them is impeachment.
Federal magistrate judges, on the other hand, have to be a member of the bar, disbarrment would, consequently, work in that instance.
Both kinds of superior court judges in DC also require bar membership, but HSI would have likely not utilized the local bench given the number of available judges in federal court.

Interesting point, I do wonder if the judge knew who the person was or the DOJ just gave "evidence" to justify the raid without giving details of the person of interest. I heard a similar thing in the Jack Smith hearing about the phone records of Congress members. The judge didn't know it was Congress records. Not trying to make a pro-Trump thing, but it is possible the judge didn't know who the person was.

“Errors in paperwork” are, according to project2025, “lies to the state” and therefore cause to terminate their citizenship. And the minute they’re no longer a citizen, they’re here illegally, and illegal immigrants can be put in excessively cruel concentration camps and maybe deported to some random country where no one will ever hear from them again.
I’m willing to bet money that this is their intent. Whether or not they actually can pull it off, every step of the process gets them what they want - intimidation, delays that keep it in the news cycles, court cases that build legitimacy bit by bit even through failure, a lightning rod that distracts from other efforts, etc.

Several months before that, they started targeting and detaining American citizens solely due to their race. It was pretty clear ever since that point.
My wife was one of them. She was born in North Carolina. Targeted for not being white while she was walking to work, then assaulted and detained by ICE even though she didn’t resist and had ID on her. Our lawyer told us this had happened to hundreds of Americans already, so it’s probably thousands by now. I don’t know, it’s too depressing for me to check up on. The fact that the news doesn’t report on this should tell you something too.

So an actual malicious attack on a congressperson. I'm sure MAGA Mike will stand up for his branch.

This is the kind of whackadoo MAGA stuff that people around Trump kept from happening in the first term. I'm surprised he hasn't had Todd Blanche announce they are looking into Obama's birth certificate yet. What a complete horror show this administration is.

It’s really hard to believe / swallow this is purely immigration related. Search warrants have a staleness requirement and I find it incredible that a federal judge thinks that there is recent evidence of the congresswoman holding documents or information related to a “possible” criminal (not civil but criminal) immigration violation that might have occurred years or even decades ago. Something else is going on or there’s just straight shenanigans and even the judiciary lost its values.

If at this point (having a firing squad execution live-streamed, giving up cities to bomb, foreign trades, baseless raids of anti-Trump government officials) we still have faith that Conservatives puppets are going to follow the law, we might as well just enjoy what we can of 2026 before we have botched elections from now on.
My hope is that everyone votes with critical thinking, but even that’s a pipe dream when we have Trump supporters and conservative Californians clapping like trained seal pups at the thought of
Israel“Iran” bombing us.→ More replies (9)→ More replies (5)18

It was HSI that investigated her. They would be the ones that could get her convicted, citizenship rescinded, and deported.
However the evidence they are suggesting would only implicate her deceased father under normal circumstances
But this isn't normal. It is chaos. It is performative.
North Korea punishes multiple generations of one person's alleged crimes. They also hold public executions.
Oops, all fascism.

they know they're going to lose the midterms, and this is a strategy to make any Congressional investigations into Republican corruption in 2027 look like political payback instead of justice.

Curious what the warrant read and who signed it. You can't just go flipping houses upside down for a paperwork mistake that she didn't even commit and is roughly 30 years removed.
If it wasn't already obvious, there's something terribly wrong here.

The police almost always side with the person who pays them. Even during revolutions the police stay loyal to the very end.

This is totally fucked and WHY did I just read a goddamn article on foxnews?
DID YOU SEE THIS SENTENCE?! ---> "During her tenure in Congress, she has been plagued by allegations that she married her brother in 2009 in an alleged immigration fraud scheme."
No qualifiers, no nothing, just a horrifying, unfounded pile of bullshit, left hanging. Fucking eye cancer fox news is

We really are at the end stage of peace being a viable option. Fuck those blood thirsty republicans that have forced this and are frothing at the mouth for violence.

The path of peace splits this November and in 2028.
I naively believe we can simply vote out MAGA and avoid any full-scale violence, but something tells me they won't be going away quietly.

It will be mind-blowing to future historians that there was a widely available incredibly detailed plan for Trump's fascist takeover.
And yet 2/3 of Americans decided not to vote against it.

Democratic leadership and officials need to be blasting the air waves loudly and vocally about how anyone involved in these political prosecutions and/or election interference will be branded as a traitor and dealt with as such. If they dont expect consequences for their actions why would they stop?
