Brunei: call every Muslims to pray for rain
As a Bruneian I can confirm this fact, whenever something like this happened, they went to the mosques and pray, somehow it worked

As someone who doesn’t really care about the haze (despite living in Singapore, China has altered my definition of hazy a lot), I say the current air quality is breathable at best, mildly annoying at worst.

It's borderline bioweapon at this point due to how bad it is.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian curved missiles are killing Polish civilians. The Polish government is screaming... To Russia, and Poland is further laying under Ukraine. These cartoons here are so flawed!

Singapore gov: We have set up a task force for this haze emergency and WE WILL MONITOR!

Your submission has been automatically removed due to it being formatted as a .jpeg image. JPEG-formatted images tend to be quite lossy in their compression scheme, introducing lots of messy artefacting to images such as with your comic.
Make sure that you have saved your comic to your computer as a .png image via the paint program you used to create your comic. If you have already done this step, try resubmitting your comic via a different device, as mobile users seem to have their comics automatically converted to JPEG-formatted images when submitting on occassion.

I don't know what's going on in SEA right now, but in general you can keep your windows closed for a day or two to deal with intermittent smoke days. If you are far enough downwind of a fire there may also be times of day where the smoke clear because the wind shifts for a bit, so you can air out at those times if you watch the air quality trackers closely enough. If it consistently stays really bad for many days you're kinda fucked, though (although you can still air your place out once and then use a home air purifier to try to get the worst out of your new haul of oxygen).
If you have to go outside you can just wear an N95 though, so for a rich country like Singapore I could imagine that commutes are not a big enough deal to require school closures.

By avoiding having the kids go outside for their commute to school.
Especially in poorer areas, kids might walk 30 min to school in the morning and 30 min back home in the afternoon.
It's (probably) not that the schools are unsafe. It's that being outside is unsafe.
In fact, Singapore is an unusually rich and concentrated nation compared to Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, and the Philippines. Commutes might be significantly more likely to take place in vehicles in Singapore. This might explain why Singapore doesn't see as much of a need to cancel school as other SEA countries do.

In Singapore you have to be a tryhard to survive, and even if the papers are postponed the questions will still stay the same so more time to prepare would still be useful

Sometimes being too proactive also people complain

Studying in Singapore is a rat race against burnout and the tryhards. The more time the tryhards are given, the less the rest can keep upm

Seriously? Fewer restrictions on freedoms under a dictator? No freedoms - no restrictions? About good governance - country is fucking poor. Money, that could be spent on development - poured into dead facilities, that will not provide any income. Multiple times. Are you a dumb "tankie"?

So how exactly does staying at home with neither mask nor air purifier reduce the exposure compared to doing so at school?
r/polandball • u/Feisty_Technician_21 • 5h ago
But tringapore is smaller than Brunei. This is fake news. :D

Yeah shit is bad, you can see the smoke in the sky early in the morning, the inside of my house smells like smoke even with all windows closed, and some people (mostly elderly and children) get sick due to the haze
r/polandball • u/Stock-Fan-8004 • 6h ago
Usually they announced that classes are suspended when you are already in the school.
r/polandball • u/Simple_Plum4091 • 6h ago
Dude, I’m talking about the comparison. Compared to your neighbors, it’s like there’s no corruption in Belarus. Even though you have a dictator, you live with fewer restrictions on freedoms than Russia and Ukraine. That’s a sign of good governance. I even envy you.

The many accident of death caused by car and motorcycle, due to low level vision during the haze especially in the morning when many people need to go to school...

There are cases where MBG kitchen just send raw uncooked meal, and significant cases of food poisoning. There is no set standard on how they ran the kitchen.
Hell, the kitchen are owned by oligarchs and politicians family to do their own thing with no standard
You think at this point the government agency would learn and re-valuate? Hahahahhaha. Fat chance
r/polandball • u/Bebek_di_Pohon • 7h ago
Its wildly varied according to the kitchens assigned to the school. There is no standard, so those kitchens ended up making whatever meal they make using national budget. So there are cases where they just send raw uncooked meal to few schools. Then there cases of students caught food poisoning.
You think the food poisoning would make the government agency re-evaluate the program? Hahahahahaha. The government never even set the standard of the hygiene when they started the programme.
So it's up to the MBG kitchen to make whatever they wanted. Some kitchens made "adequate" meal, but the nutritional value is questionable to even prevent the goal of preventing stunting

in Singapore, most schools have open air classrooms with fans and no air conditioning
though halls, senior classes in some schools, seminar rooms, special rooms etc. which students can easily access and stay in have aircon. their classes however will usually not be in aircon unless the teacher is nice enough to shift to say a lab
