Impending Loss My 2 senior dogs are being put to rest tomorrow

Im hurting real bad. Tonight's my last night with my childhood dogs. Both 16 years old, long haired chihuahua. Stubborn af, but my whole heart and world. They suffer from arthritis pain, from seizures every 6ish months or 3 months. They seem like they are pushing through pain just for me but I guess itll be selfish of me to keep them living like that.

Since the appointment has been made I subconsciously count down the days....

I dread tomorrow...

I dread it so much.

Sadness Suddenly lost my best friend

I can't cope with the loss of my dog. He passed unexpectedly this morning. He was 11 which I know for his breed is older but he still felt so young. He still acted like a pup, he wasn't even graying yet. He had maybe slowed down a little this past year but he was just so full of life.

The past few days had been completely normal even this morning. He got up and barked because he heard a car outside. Next thing I knew he went to lay down and started breathing hard. It was suddenly like he couldn't get up and then he was gone.

Thankfully he was surrounded by family and I held him and talked to him the whole time. I just can't believe he's gone I raised him from a puppy. He was here through so much of my life and I just don't know to cope. I had just lost someone that was like a second dad to me about two months ago its all too much.

Advice Wanted un-peaceful euthanasia?

looking for people that relate to this and can share their own experience

my cat was relatively calm in the room where the euthanasia was about to happen, but once the medication was administered, he started howling and meowing unlike anything i've ever heard from him. he was the calmest cat, so hearing him scream meow like that and try to claw his way off the couch was extremely unsettling. he seemed so stressed. every time i think of it i start to cry.

the vet warned us that the medication can feel cold so they may twitch their arm but this was complete whole body anger from him. i thought it was going to be so peaceful, like falling asleep, and it was nothing like that. im really struggling with that being his last moment on earth.

Sadness This is the worst pain I've ever known

I'm shocked, and to be honest even feel a little guilt, that I am struggling more with the loss of my cat Snuffy than even the death of my father, whom I was closer to than anyone and took care of up until the end of his life. Maybe it's because Snuffy helped me through the loss of my dad, and then all of my parents, that year. Now, the boy who helped me get through their loss, and other challenges is gone.

We were so incredibly close, I didn't even realize it was possible to be that bonded to a pet. 10 years of memories, daily routines, trust, love, compansionship. The house feels so hollow. I feel so hollow.

I am trying to focus on gratitude, and I am incredibly grateful. I am looking back through old photos and videos, and putting memories on paper so they don't fade over time. I plan on making a good tribute/memorial type post for him at some point here on Reddit, maybe even make a Youtube video tribue that likely nobody will watch but I can watch years from now, or every year actually multiple times per year. But, I just don't have it in me right now.

I've mostly stopped eating, not entirely. I am eating, but this never happened during a greif/loss before either. This little guy was my world. He was my kid.

It hurts so.... incredibly....much.

Sadness Part of me left with my cat last night

I lost my 18 months old cat last night all of a sudden and the pain is so unbearable it's unreal. I keep going feeling numb and crying so many tears. I came across this group as i was trying to find some support online. I feel so lonely right now and the world feels so empty. Does the pain ever fade away? I have another cat which I also treasure but right now, I am too heartbroken, I keep seeing, hoping my boy will turn up and beg for his food. We can have such a strong connection with our pets, it's like a part of me left with him. How do you keep living after this? šŸ’”

Sadness I miss my baby.

I received my baby Bella at a crucial time in my life, I was 12 Years old and severely depressed and lonely and I believed asking for a dog for Christmas would help. Bella was a black 4 pound Shih-Poo and she was the light of my life and genuinely loved me for me no matter what size I was or how much money I made or how I felt about myself, she loved me with all her heart.

This year in April she started breathing weird and scared me so bad that I immediately rushed her to the vet and she had a collapsed trachea leading to her having pneumonia. We began giving her the medicine and she was fine afterwards. Blood tests and urine tests came back fine and she was in perfect health. Around June she began acting differently, she was still her spicy self but just a little more tired. I took her to the vet and they broke my heart telling me it might be time for cremation. I broke down and called my mom and she broke down as well. The vet wanted to try to prescribe her medicine but she passed away the next day June 20th 2026 around 1 pm. She took her last breath on my bed. The whole night before her passing I couldn't sleep and I just kept checking on her and crying my eyes out. I've never seen my baby like this and I never wanted her to be in pain. I didn't eat for days after she passed.

These past few months have been so rough, I'm missing my child. Bella's birthday passed on October 4th and I was a mess. She would've been 14. My family and friends have been so supportive and the vet we took her to when she passed sent a hand written letter. I sleep with her urn on my be every night, we were inseparable and did everything together she was truly my baby. Some times I believe that me and Bella both had separation anxiety from each other lol. Every time I go walking on the trail and see a dog especially a little black one I break down. Me and my family cry all the time looking at her pictures and thinking about her, I am so jealous of other people that still have their babies as I wish I was able to have a little more time with mine.

Her passing was so sudden and unexpected. My heart will probably be broken until I take my last breath. I asked her to show up as a white butterfly and a week after her passing I saw a field of white butterflies and I see them all the time now. I still have all of her belongings in place, all of her beds, her coat and leash, her wet dog food in the cabinet, water bowl still in place and all of her clothes and dog grooming stuff. I don't ever think I will be capable of having another pet because the heart break and sadness I feel after losing her is immense.

Impending Loss I’m putting down my baby and don’t know how to cope

Hi everyone,
I’m kind of just at a loss right now. I’m in denial, feeling guilty, and just overall sad. Really, I just want to tell my cat’s story right now because I don’t know what else to do.
My boyfriend and I decided we wanted to rescue a cat almost 4 years ago. We went to the rescue and fell in love with this cat who wouldn’t stop meowing at us. He was missing part of his ear, he has beautiful long hair, a beautiful mainecoon mixed face, and his description said he was FIV+, 4 years old, and 17 pounds. I knew a bit about FIV+ due to volunteering at the shelter when I was younger, and I knew things could get hard eventually, but for the most part, FIV+ cats can live long, healthy lives with regular vet visits.
We brought him home and also figured out he didn’t have a tail (we did not notice this at the shelter because we did not take him out of his cage). Right away, I noticed his smell. He stunk terribly of poop. We soon figured out that he couldn’t groom himself well, and due to his long hair, poop would get caught on his bottom because he couldn’t clean himself properly. That’s when we took him to the vet and realized he was constantly having diarrhea.
Long story short, we actually figured out he was suffering from chronic diarrhea, chronic ear infections, and dental disease, and he was not, in fact, 4 years old. The vet messed up his age in his description. He actually ended up being 10 years old. So we had a senior cat with FIV+ and many health issues on top of that.
I was 19 when we got him and found all of this out, so it was a bit of a shock. I’d never even had a cat before. But I was already attached and could never take an animal back to the shelter.
Fast forward a few years, and I’d probably spent close to $5,000–$9,000 on vet bills and medication for him because of the chronic ear infections and chronic diarrhea. (I also think my vets were just money hungry and did not really have me or my cat’s best interests at heart.) He was at the vet at least once every 2 months, I would say, due to different issues he was having. It’s been 4 years of me wiping his bottom and him getting feces all over my house as well.
He is now almost 14 and has been declining over the past year. I took him to a new vet a couple of months ago, and she was very honest with me, which I really appreciated. She let me know that he was down to 10 pounds and she suspected he probably had diabetes, maybe kidney disease, an ear infection, and inflamed gums.
She basically told me I could pay to run all the tests, but if I wasn’t willing to give him insulin 3 times a day and pay a ridiculous amount of money for medications and teeth cleaning there wasn’t really a point in running the tests. She also asked me if I had considered euthanasia due to his quality of life. I told her that had been in the back of my mind and that I couldn’t afford all the tests and medications. She told me that even if I could afford everything, that doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do for his quality of life.
Since then, it’s kind of just been me being in denial. She told me he would get worse quickly, but there’s still no way to prepare for that.
Last month, he didn’t eat for 2 days and was just not himself. I scheduled an appointment for him to be euthanized but then panicked and canceled it because I felt like it was wrong. I eventually got him to eat by getting him some new wet food.
Fast forward to this weekend. My boyfriend and I were out of town, and my grandma was watching him. She let me know he was not eating, which was really confusing because he was eating fine for me when I left.
I got home today and found out he had not eaten in 4 days. I came home to find out he had been throwing up, his urine was brown/reddish, he still would not eat for me, and he stunk like never before. It was a smell like I’ve never smelled before. He wouldn’t let me clean or brush him either, and he is matted and poopy. I freaked out and took him to the vet, and they basically told me there was nothing they could do for me besides charge me $500 to run tests and then potentially have me pay even more for medication. They also let me know he was all the way down to 8 pounds. So I made the appointment to put him down for tomorrow.
My question is, am I making the right decision? Is it wrong that I’m not getting the tests run because I can’t afford it? Am I wrong for putting him down even though he still sits on my lap, purrs, and wants love?
Was I ever even a good pet owner to him?
I feel guilty at times because sometimes it was hard for me to be around him because of his smell. It makes me feel bad because he really is the sweetest, most loving cat, but the upkeep on his fur and diarrhea would burn me out.
I just feel like a terrible cat mom and like I was never cut out to be his. If someone else had him, they potentially would have paid for tests to be done a long time ago and could have afforded to help get ahead of all these health issues.
Now I’m sitting here, thinking about how this is our last night together, and I can’t even comprehend him not being home with me. It’s a feeling of dread like no other. He’s really been such a great first cat and I don’t know how I will deal with him not being home with me.
Anyways if you got this far thanks for reading my story. I’m really gonna miss my boy.

Sadness Guilt over euthanasia

• Upvotes

I euthanized my 14 year old beautiful cat today and I can’t stop crying. He’s lost weight but a previous vet said that is expected with aging, to lose muscle mass, so I didn’t think it was that weird he lost some weight. He was breathing with his mouth open so we took him to the vet. The vet identified fluid in his chest and referred us to the ER to get an ultrasound. His ultrasound showed a mass in his chest they thought to be cancerous. Then a $8k CT scan (required sedation) was recommended to get a better idea if the mass could be removed. Surgery for that was estimated to be $15k. They also mentioned that he might pass due to complications from anesthesia or surgery, due to age and being very thin. I recently moved and I’m unemployed. I couldn’t justify spending an additional $23k. We just don’t have that kind of money and putting that much on credit would’ve been overwhelming.

I let my kids say goodbye to our boy. My older kid asked if money was the reason they couldn’t fix him. I lied and said that wasn’t the issue, he’s just too sick.

I can’t stop thinking about what my kid asked and if I had the money I would do it.

tldr: my cat died because I didn’t have money

I just can’t get over the guilt I have. I miss him so much. I love him so much. He’s been with me since college and was there to help raise my kids. He’s gone and I still can’t believe it.

Advice Wanted Do you get presents or treats for your pet who has passed?

My cat passed in May. I got him some day of the dead flowers this weekend. If I put out treats or catnip for him my other cats will get to it. Maybe I can put some up out of the way for him. I want to do a gesture to say I'm thinking of you. Do you have traditions for your pets who have passed?

Vent It happened so fast

He was fine Saturday, begging for food and just happy, then he got really sick really fast Saturday evening.

Today I had to put him down. He was so tired and in pain, but my decision still feels wrong. Like I failed him, like if I had tried harder he would be fine. But he wasn’t eating and he barely moved. He was so quiet. He’s never quiet.

Everyone keeps telling me I did the right thing.

I keep expecting him to come running round the corner, tail high and asking for food. I keep expecting to hear his little paws. I keep expecting to see him later today, or tomorrow or some day. I keep forgetting he’s gone, only to remember the next second. He was my soul-cat. My sjƤlsfrƤnde.

He didn’t even get to be four years old. His birthday is Thursday. Three days away. Now he’s wrapped in a blanket with his favorite toy and some snacks. I feel so evil having to put him in the dirt, and then leave him behind.

But he was so tired. Now he can sleep.

Advice Wanted Do I have a right to be upset?

It’s been a little over a week since I had to put my 4 year old soul dog to sleep. Cancer. I have been absolutely devastated since.

A few days after he was laid to rest I had a pre planned and paid trip. I thought maybe it would be good for me to get out of the house and have ā€œfunā€. Spoiler alert: it didn’t work.

I went on ā€œvacationā€ with my boyfriend and his mom and sister. They knew our situation and were told to not say anything to me about it because I’m not ready to talk about it yet.

Well, fast forward to the plane ride to our destination they were talking about their dogs the entire time and showing my boyfriend and I pictures. This automatically brought tears to my eyes. I try to let this go and continue on my vacation. Well towards the end they were saying comments like ā€œI can’t wait to see my dogā€, ā€œI can’t wait to sleep with my dog tonightā€, ā€œI miss my dogsā€. I finally couldn’t take it anymore and broke down crying. How could people so close to me be so insensitive about my situation? They know I just lost my soul dog in a devastating way and they were telling me how they couldn’t wait to see their dogs? I can’t get over it.

Now, I am holding a bit of a grudge. I am angry, upset, devastated and just overall disappointed that this happened. I don’t think I should have to tell people close to me that talking about their dog only days after I lost mine hurts. Not to mention his mom was sending him pictures of his dog that lives with her the day before my boy was laid to rest.

My feelings are hurt and I feel like no one understands the immense amount of grief I am going through. It is starting to take a toll on my relationship because I wish he would’ve stood up for me. He is supposed to be my best friend, how could he not see the pain I was in?

What I need advice on: How do i navigate this? I fear I will hold a grudge and will never be able to be around them comfortably again. Do I tell them they hurt me? Do I wait until it happens again? Let me know.

Sadness Mourning one half of a bonded pair

I adopted a lovely bonded pair of kittens in 2017, and raised them together for nine wonderful years. In early August, one of them disappeared, and we're now pretty sure she was taken by a coyote. We had never seen coyotes in our area before, but a large pack of juveniles invaded our neighborhood for a couple of weeks, right around when Dawn went missing. They jumped six-foot fences and killed at least four pets in one week. We were out of town and didn't learn about the coyote invasion until we returned about a week later. (Our neighbor fed our cats while we were away, but he couldn't watch them 24/7. I don't blame him at all for what happened.)

The last 10 weeks have been agonizing, as I've switched between being sure Dawn was dead, and wondering if she just ran far away and got lost, in which case she might someday return to us. (She was microchipped.) We put up posters, posted on missing pet boards, and searched during the day and night in a wide radius around our house. Now it's been long enough that I no longer think we'll see her again in this lifetime. Meanwhile, her surviving sister walks around disoriented, and still seems to look for her and call for her sometimes. It doesn't help that she suddenly has to be fully indoors, when before she and her sister were allowed to go out and frolic in our backyard.

I just feel so guilty and so sad for Dawn and her sister. I failed them both due to lack of imagination. Who knew coyotes would terrorize our safe urban neighborhood all of a sudden? Also, Dawn was the most affectionate and sweet cat I've ever known, and I can't stand that she's just gone without a trace, like she was never here. I feel a lot of intense anger toward some of the people in my area, because apparently some misguided people have been feeding coyotes, which has caused them to lose their fear of human beings and to associate us with food. I'm guessing you can draw a straight line between a person deciding to feed the poor skinny coyotes and us losing a family member.

Every day I think of her, multiple times a day, and nothing feels right. Dawnie, I'm so sorry and I'll miss you for the rest of my life. I'll take good care of your sister and give her extra cuddles in your honor. Maybe if there is a next life, I'll get to be with you again someday.

Sadness Struggling 24 hours later

I put my soul cat down yesterday.

He was 14. The love of my life. He went through everything with me in my life. He saw me through grad school. Saw me get married and then divorced. Saw me try to start over with someone else and have my daughter, only to be in a bad situation and had to start over as a single mom.

He knew when I was sad. He could be on the opposite side of the house but he still knew. And he’d come find me. He’d sit on my lap. Rub against my face. He’d melt his body into mine and give the best hugs while he demanded forehead kisses until I stopped crying.

He’d follow me around everywhere. Wake me up in the morning. Wait for me to use the toilet. Demand to drink out of the sink. Meow his distinct meow. He’d choose me over everyone in this world. He was my soulmate.

Yesterday I heard him come down the steps and it just sounded off. It wasn’t his rhythm. Then I saw him turn and walk through the kitchen. He was swaying like he was walking on a boat. Panting. Meowing the strangest meow I’ve never heard him make before. His gaze looked off. He looked awful. He tried to go down the basement steps but I stopped him because I was worried he’d fall given how unsteady he was.

Then he stood under the table but couldn’t really stand. He was panting so much. He went to the bathroom and continued to sway back and forth.

I called an emergency vet. They said they had a really long wait so recommended another one. I called them and then got his carrier for the last time.

Somehow he had gotten into the closet and was lying down. If I hadn’t seen him minutes before, I’d never had known what he just went through. But I packed him up. Got him to the emergency vet. They said based on his symptoms they suspected he has a mass in his brain and had a seizure. She mentioned imagining and the potential of medication depending on the outcome. But he’d never tolerate medication. And I just couldn’t see him like that again. It’s all I can see in my head now.

So I made the painful decision to put him down. I held him. Covered his fur in my tears while I thanked him for 14 years even though I wanted more. Thanked him for always being there for me. For getting me through everything. For loving my daughter. I told him he’s the best cat ever. How much I love him. That I’ll love him forever.

And then he was gone.

I wasn’t ready. I’m still not.

I’ve lost pets before and it hurt. But this is a whole different feeling. I’m beyond devastated. He was my best friend and basically my shadow.

It was so quiet this morning when I woke up. He wasn’t there to tell me he needed treats and for our morning routine to start.

He’s not here now wanting cuddles and kisses on his forehead.

My daughter keeps saying she wants him to come home and then will say he’s at the doctors and is going to be all better. She cries when I tell her his body stopped working and he died. He won’t be coming home but we’ll love him forever.

I’m just a sobbing mess.

I don’t know how to do this.

Was I too rash? Did I not fight enough for him? Did I fail him? Would he have recovered? How did we go from him having breakfast yesterday to a quiet house today.

My other cat is looking for him. He’s a lovely cat. I love him so much. But he’s not my soul cat. And I feel like the worst person saying that. He’s a distant cat. Wants tiny bits of attention when he wants it and hides otherwise. The exact opposite of my soul cat.

I’d give anything for one more day, to not be sobbing all day while I keep thinking how I’ll have to spend the rest of my life without him.

Vent How to Cope with Sudden Death of my Dog

As the title says, my dog is dead, or at least she is on her death bed.

Two days ago we noticed our soon to be 7 year old Labordoodle wasn’t eating normally, the next day she didn’t seem to have much energy and started to pee what looked like dirty water with drops of blood. We did not hesitate to schedule an appointment with the vet.

We show up today… they did some blood test… and from that alone they were able to determine it was kidney failure, and running some xrays, they noticed a mass… cancer.

This came at a sudden shock as just a week ago we were playing ball, running around our backyard, never was I prepared to hear this. I felt sick, I sweated and was pale, hunched over trying not to vomit.

I’ve been in a dark place in my life for a couple months now and my dog, Lola, was an anchor to me, I loved how when I opened my door every morning and she would be waiting for me, I would say her favorite words ā€œballā€ or ā€œoutsideā€ and she would happily get up and bolt straight for the backyard, and so many other moments I cherished

So many good memories, i cherished every second spent, and now.. she’s gone… now it hurts to remember… i thought we had more time… i want more time…

I apologize for venting but I would like to now how to cope with this sudden loss.

Sadness Pet loss and Guilt

I had to put my dog down of 14 years yesterday. We adopted her as a rescue when she was one year-old. She was the kindest, sweetest, gentle soul. She loved affection. She loved to lick faces. She was so so so sweet. The last few years of of her life, I feel like I could’ve done a better job being more patient and taking good care of her. Almost her entire life. She had a persistent ear infection, which caused yeast to buildup. I would occasionally clean her ears and we had her on and off medication throughout her life. There was more I could’ve done the last six months. I feel like I stopped trying and just accepted that she was just getting older. I would see her shake her head and even touch her ear and cry out. I put her back on medication this summer and it helped a little bit, but she was back to having problems for the last two months. Yesterday morning, I came downstairs and found her bleeding from her nose and struggling with breathing so I took her and had her put down. She went peacefully, but I have a lot of regret about not being kinder to her and taking better care of her. I’ve been depressed and struggling to keep myself together at times this last year, but I could’ve done more to help her instead of acting like she was a problem all the time. I was always kind to her, but I didn’t love her like I should’ve. The last month or so I’ve been extra kind to her, but I feel bad. She was always so sweet and wagged her tail to see me. I did not think I would feel this bad and now I just can’t overcome my guilt. The reason I didn’t get her help because I didn’t want to spend the money because I knew she was just getting old anyways how do I overcome this guilt?

Advice Wanted Cancelling trip because of pet loss?

I have a trip planned with my friend, this Friday, the 16th through the 23rd. I’ve been really looking forward to it but my cat passed away on the 3rd. I’ve been struggling so much without him, I still cry everyday. I don’t know how to go on a trip and act like everything is fine and perfect when all I can think about is him. I’ve tried going out with my friends but it still doesn’t help, I’m just worried I’m going to go and be miserable the whole time. I’m scared to tell my friend as well because it was just us going and if I cancel she won’t have anyone else to go with, but mentally I really don’t think I can handle it right now.

Sadness The grief is palpable

It’s been 4 days since losing my sweet soul doggie and the grief is palpable. It sits like an elephant on my chest. It was just the 2 of us and now it’s so quiet.

She was a senior dog that I rescued 3 years ago and we were a perfect match!! It felt like we had been together forever and now that she’s gone it feels like I just brought her home yesterday.

First thing in the morning and right before bed are the hardest times for me right now. Because that’s when we did most of our routines.

I wish I could skip through this grief and get to the other side. But I know the only way out is to go through.

I miss my sweet Lulu with every fiber of my being šŸ’”

CONTENT WARNING/GRAPHIC My cat died unexpectedly tonight.

• Upvotes

I adopted Boo two years ago from an acquaintance whose parents couldn’t care for her anymore in their old age. She was three years old at that time so she was five. She was likely a DSH but had Siamese coloration and beautiful blue eyes. I sang to her all the time about how pretty she was. She was sassy, cuddly, and loved treats—she would even do tricks for them like ā€˜be a bear’ and ā€˜spin around’. She was a little chunky and I had just taken her to the vet for her yearly checkup. I had expressed concern about her weight given the restricted diet we had her on. They ran labs and even did an ultrasound. Everything was normal.
Tonight was normal too. I got home from work. My husband had given her dinner. She was bathing on the floor next to our bed. Our younger cat was pouncing on her, which she allowed as usual. I went to bed and fell asleep. An hour later, I was awoken to yowling and our dog barking frantically at the bedroom door.
She was in our bathroom on the floor. On her side. Crying, purple gums, drooling, eyes wide. I used to work at a cat shelter and knew she was dying but I still wrapped her in a towel and scooped her up and rushed her to the emergency vet as quickly as I could. She died in my front seat before I could make it there with her. I don’t understand what happened. We had nothing poisonous or toxic around… we had three (now two :() cats, two dogs, and a child and are careful about such things.
I have sobbed and sobbed. I brought her back home where my husband buried her under the tree in our front yard. She was not allowed outside as her prior owners declawed her, but wanted to go out badly. So I like to think she is happy with her resting spot, where she wanted to go in life. I buried her with some treats that she loved so much so she wouldn’t be hungry on her journey.
We allowed our other two cats to see her and say goodbye before we buried her. I hope they will not be depressed but we thought they needed to see. We will have to explain this to our 5 year old child as well. I feel a lot of guilt about trying to take her to the vet when I knew she was dying imminently but I think I just hoped I was wrong. I should have just held her and told her I loved her and let her pass in her home. I petted her while in the car and told her I loved her and knew she was hurting and we were going to go get better. I hope she felt loved. Sorry this is all over the place. I am just so sad.

My 13-year old chocolate Lab girl, Barley, will be crossing the Rainbow Bridge this Friday. The pre-grief I’ve been experiencing is shattering me. I know it’s the right call and I know it’s time. The hardest part is that she’s still so cognitively present and aware and happy, but arthritis is ravaging her body and everything is a struggle for her. Barley is my soul dog. She chose me when she was just nine weeks old and she’s been with me through so, so, so much. She’s had a very long, full, happy, active, spoiled, wonderful life, and I’m going to miss her so painfully much. Outwardly, I probably look like I’m handling this okay, but on the inside, absolute the fuck not. I’ve never had to plan a dog’s passing before. My last dog got sick abruptly and it was an emergency decision to let him go, so I didn’t get to savor his golden years or watch his slow physical decline. I don’t know how this part goes. How do I stop clock-watching? I’m absolutely crumbling. 😭

Impending Loss How to deal with the pain of euthanasia

• Upvotes

We are putting down my bestfriend tomorrow. Hes 10 years and recently became paralysed and has been slowly deteriorating since.
I know this will ease the pain but the feeling will of impending doom and just the thought of seeing him go infront of my eyes is killing me. Like how do I lose him? How do I wake up tomorrow knowing whats gonna happen?
When the vet’s staff comes, Id know what hes home for and.. im just blabbering. I just think im not prepared, but this has been long due. Cant see him suffer anymore. Any advice helps.

Sadness Soul dog and depression

I have owned a few dogs but this dog was my everything. My rescue dog Rocky crossed the rainbow bridge today at 8 years old. Cancer was too much for his little body. It isnt fair.

He is so much more than his death. He is a puggle we rescued at year and a half. He LOVED the car. Food was his goal in life, to eat anything he could. He would actually smile at you. He was with me everyday at work and slept in the bed. Even on the couch he had to be burrowed under the blankets.

I have cried and cried I cried all weekend. And now as we drive home with his body in the back of the car I feel...numb.

I have severe depression and anxiety. Taking care of Rocky was a big routine at work and home that centered me.

How do I go on? I am an introvert at the best of times. How do you want to stay when the sun has left my sky.

The best boy

Sadness My sweet girl passed yesterday. Will you guys share pics so I know she's not alone?

My sweet girl and soul cat, Angel, passed yesterday. She was due to be put to sleep on Oct. 20th, but her health took an awful turn. I'm glad Lap of Love exists, and she was able to rest peacefully at home with me. She got plenty of chicken and treats before it was time. I know it was for the best, and it would've hurt more if her cancer had taken her.

My heart hurts, I'm so worried about her. I wish there was a way to know that she made it across the rainbow bridge safely. I'm scared that she's alone, and that shes scared. I couldn't sleep much last night, anytime I closed my eyes I just saw her.

I'm trying to preserve her scent in any way I can on my sweater and the little clip of fur I got. Any ideas?

Could you guys share pictures of your furry friends that are waiting for her?
