Do we have any detail surrounding the context of the donation? Was there any specific restrictions or suggestions made on what it should be spent on? The announcement linked above goes on to talk about a bunch of Gen-AI or LLM projects, but it isn't clear that that is in any way related to the actual donation, or simply "hey, speaking of NVIDIA" flavour.
I for one would be quite disappointed if it turned out this donation was in any way restricted to only being used for Gen-AI or LLM adjacent projects.

As far as I am aware there were no restrictions that it be limited to LLM/Gen-AI adjacent projects. I am pretty sure that was just “hey speaking of NVIDIA” flavor.

Very nice to see from NVIDIA.
I have some Raku modules for LLM usage, LLM::Agent and LLM::Data::Inference as well as MCP::Client and MCP::Server.

Isn't that basically pennies for them? Still appreciate the gesture tho.

I think it will be the trend as more and more companies recognize how important perl is to their software stack.
