I think the locking palls are installed backwards. That angle seems like it will allow the door to open but not close.

This type of bolt lock is meant for swing/pivot doors, not sliding doors.

Sliders require a different type of locking mechanism. Usually I see bolts that drop/fall into place to latch with some kind of hook.

I have dreams about this exact shit. I lock a door behind me and the door didn't even latch close let alone lock!
