Me and my buddy cleared out the inside of a little group of trees like this close to the street we lived on back when we were in 8th grade or so. It was thicker so less visibilty from the outside in and vise versa but had a lot of space. We called it the chill zone. At first it was for airsoft and just hanging out. Then we realized it was a great place to smoke weed after school and it eventually became the spot for a lot of my friends. Even people thay didn't live in the neighborhood would come over to it and kick it with us regularly. So many blunts, gravity bongs(geebs, gb's), joints, bowls, and cans were ripped there. The spot is a home in a neighborhood now. Holy blast from the past.

I was going to say, what a great place to hang out as a kid! My friends and I in elementary school had a spot like that but it was only like 3 metres across and you had to hunch in there so it's much less impressive, but as a 9 year old it felt pretty magical

That green light you get from under the leaves in hangout places like this is exactly why my favorite color is green.

Very beautiful! I'm curious whether that occurred naturally or was cultivated.

I would guess they trimmed a lot of the internal branches. You can see places that look like branches used to come out of them.

Had a place like this when I was a kid, Fort Kickass was my go to spot.

We had a tree like this, covered in vines.
We’d climb to the very top, poke out of the vines, and then roll and summer sault down the outside.
It was as whimsical as you’d imagine

My guess is Longwood Mall in Brookline MA
Bunch of old European beeches with this growth habit. Awesome spot.

we had an area like this growing up. It had been a huge plant, tree and bush nursery, at least 100 acres. There were also swampy areas with muskrats, tortoises. It was all bulldozed for housing development.

The craziest part is, obviously this is an insane location, but overall, just about every freaking location where nature is left alone, is magnificent. Any forest, lakes, rivers, hill, mountain, park.. with little human interaction, is perfection.

It's gorgeous, but I can only think about how many spiders must be hanging down from those branches.

He had amazing trees like this in the middle of our dog park, then one day they hacked off like 70% of the foliage. Dogs absolutely loved the tree fort, but it may have caused visibility issues which can be a problem for an off leash park

Does anyone know the names of those trees?

I have this big maple that does this. The branches go to a couple feet of the ground, but it’s a 15 foot canopy above. Sometimes I take the hammock outside, it’s easily one of my favorite things about the house, my son doesn’t get it

If someone told me at 10 years old, “you can get your camping gear, some food and your best friend and just live here for week. But, you owe me one months salary when you’re in your 40’s”, I would happily pay that bill today.

Too bad that beauty is ruined by such stupid crappy music. Why don't you try actually playing the sounds of nature while you're there
