What is the name of the piece he's playing? Excellent use of environment to elevate what already sounds like a special piece of music

He’s not playing this exact piece, but the chord progression he’s following in the arpeggios is similar to Bon Iver’s Woods. Definitely shares the ethereal feel as well with the echo and reverb.

There is post processing going on here and dubbed over the original. That is some heavenly reverb going on that you don't get from a parking garage. The tail of the reverb turns into a synthesized sound. The effect is in stereo and most phone mics are mono. At the moment, I can't name this type of reverb. Not be an asshole redditor, as this sounds absolutely lovely. Since I'm in audio production, I like pointing these things out the most people might not realize.

Yeah, had the same thought. I think part o why its hard to pin down is i think they expanded the original audio in addition to some sort of exciter to drive some extra reverb in post.

I appreciate the info! I am part of the uninitiated when it comes to the audio world, so I would not have picked that up

It's just arpeggios. Not any piece of music in particular, just basically an excercise.

I mean he’s riffing off arpeggios no? Some of the greatest pieces of music are essentially riffs off scales/arpeggios.

Where can I watch the full concert?

If this is Nathaniel Young, I think he plays in parking garages, tunnels, and other acoustically interesting spaces in the San Gabriel valley of the greater Los Angeles area. My buddy just introduced me to his music a couple weeks ago. The kind of stuff where you can just hit play and walk way.

Nice. Love the moonwalk spin when it kicked off.

That's Leo Pellegrino, and I'm pretty sure he's still with Too Many Zooz if you want to find more of his stuff.

Why even build a concert hall or an amphitheater when bathrooms, stairwells and parking garages exist?

Comfier seats

That's valid, except for a few outdoor amphitheaters I've been to where it was basically sitting in a stairwell anyway.

All the camera shaking and jolting actually made me nauseous. I couldn't even get to the playing part until I moved away from the video itself.

Also the first 30 seconds where they just adjusted things and got ready to play - /r/oddlyboring. Edit your videos, people!

Right? I think if it had been cut down to just the playing of the sax and taken the video portion out, it would have been a much more effective oddlysatisfying level. There's just too much of nothing but a crowd of people. And since I'm agoraphobic, a crowd of people is not satisfying. The playing is beautiful... though, tbh, my cousin was a way more talented sax/trombone/clarinet/piano/drums (I honestly can't remember how many instruments, just those for sure) player when he was in high school and college.

I know it's ai because every single audience member is contently observing. Not a single person is video taping on their phone. Like, everyone would be video taping it right? Seems too off to be real.

Nice that people are doing a cool thing like sitting in a parking lot listening to the reverb of a sax, I just wish he would do something other than arpeggios.

I love the rich tone of a sax
