Ocracoke When did Ocracoke ferry open

Hi - the auto ferry from the mainland to Ocracoke was closed Sept 25 due to the storm. Does anyone remember the first day they reopened and were taking people to Ocracoke? When they did open was there a long wait of people trying to get to the island? I know. Odd question. Trying to figure out a series of events.

This is your 3rd post asking about ferry things you can find directly from the source…A quick google search should’ve told you that the mainland ferries resumed on the 26th. Reservations were booked out. Just scroll down in this sub. Ppl were posting updates and stories every day - you included lol

Also, the ferries were closed on the 25th but that’s not the day they were suspended fyi

Thanks for being a dick. Checked Facebook and this sub, but have not found the exact info. Looks
Like ferry service resumed on the 26th but maybe was restricted to locals? And was booked out full through most of the week.

They’re not being a dick. They’re reminding you you’re not using your resources. Even reading back on the sub during that time would help answer your questions.

Gemini says that the Hatteras/Ocracoke ferry resumed on a limited schedule 1:30pm Sunday September 27 and full schedule the next day. Traffic levels probably weren't very high as there was still restricted access due residents and vendors only to Hatteras Island.
