Women lie down, men lie up. Idk why

I just tell women I’m 5 feet tall.

I figure when they see I’m 5’7” the extra 7” will make up for the missing 7” from my advertised 10” penis.

It’s u/BarnacleMcBarndoor’s world, we’re all just living in it

Both sides make a certain kind of sense in that you'd like to avoid missing a large number of possible connections because of people mindlessly setting some filters that they may not actually care about when it comes to it. I bet a lot of men auto-reject women taller than themselves but it's less of a deal breaker when meeting a real person

u/SWIMlovesyou 7h ago

I am glad I am married. My short ass would be in trouble.

oh shut up you know exactly why

https://www.yahoo.com/news/short-kings-rise-grind-study-225908780.html

“Study says 5'6" men need to earn $175,000 more a year to be as desirable as 6’ men”

Yeah it’s a real mystery why men lie about their height

6

u/8373738931 3h ago

Well a girl lying down is the equivalent of a guy lying up right? Guys tend to prefer shorter girls

4

u/therandomuser84 2h ago

I'm 6'5. Pretty common for me to have guys tell me i must be 6'10 or so because "they are 6'" and a full head shorter than me (so they are probably about 5'8-5'10). I make sure to tell them and their friends or date im actually 6'2 and it is hilarious every time it happens.

Mess everyone else down*

1

u/SnowballWasRight 2h ago

I typically round an inch down in order to have other people questioning their height. If I’m insecure everyone else will be too /s

1

u/Useful_Intern_5056 17m ago

Idk about that, I always lie down when I’m tired

u/loot168 8h ago

People do discriminate based on height when it comes to dating but online dating allows you to automate away people above or below a certain height.

22

u/connly33 7h ago

Tall girls make dudes insecure especially when they are the same or shorter height. I don’t understand it personally I don’t give a shit about height difference as a dude.

u/MyAssPancake 6h ago

Lying about a physical feature is super hella weird. Like, yeah let me just paint this perfect picture of me online so that everyone I meet in person is severely disappointed and feels lied to… it’s like when people use extreme filters to hide their weight, age, blemishes, even change the shape of their face… it’s wild what people do to seem more than they are online. Why not just work to be more than you are in person?!

u/Duggie1330 6h ago

Old sales trick. Its much easier to close the deal after you get in the door than standing outside. No matter how you get there

u/wooden-fuk-boi 6h ago edited 6h ago

I know its flippin ridiculous, im 9'4' and like its not my personality. . .

^ this is a lie, im 5'11" genuinely, but I have to lie and say 6' cause im close enough, if you say 5'11" the panties dry and the nips becomes soft. . . .lol im more proud of my girlfriends dad, man is 5'2" lol shes taller than him, and hes been married and raised 3 amazing kids, 1 who is absolutely love and my girlfriend is alright too

6

u/jonofromjuno 6h ago

it was so funny before the paragraph break

1

u/CryptoCracko 6h ago

Bet you stopped reading before the punchline at the end

4

u/jonofromjuno 5h ago

I did because it was basically illegible. just went back and it wasnt worth it

2

u/wooden-fuk-boi 4h ago

I appreciate your opinion

u/wooden-fuk-boi 4h ago

I know, lol I suffer from foot in mouth disease. . .while not deadly it is troublesome

1

u/mas_fajitas 1h ago

Seems like backlash, judgement or abuse. Tall women are seen as a “threat” to “men”.

My cousin’s 6’3 and self-conscious about his height because of the culture we grew up in where he’s considered abnormally tall and belittled for it.

I’m 5’3 and I got over my insecurities about my height when I was a 14 - but it doesnt mean I dont get judged, othered or abused for it every now and then.

USA things

1

u/ClyanStar 38m ago

I guess because bigger = better / stronger in most people's mind. Or maybe because it looks weird to them if the woman is taller. Personally i'd love to call an amazon my lady.

140

u/GooseNYC 6h ago

I have dated a few women that height but I'm 6'2". I can see that some shorter guys might not want to a date a woman 4 or 5" taller than they are.

20

u/needs_more_zoidberg 4h ago

I (5'9) dated a 6'1 volleyball player while in high school. 10/10 experience, would die by snu snu again

93

u/OpenAd3036 5h ago

Nah I'm tryna get picked up and sucked in the fetal position... amazon style

You made me choke laughing

Now cum make me choke

3

u/Mighty_Eagle_2 5h ago

So real. Unfortunately, I am way too large a man for this.

3

u/StockAmphibian4596 2h ago

Nah i like uppies

1

u/SwampOfDownvotes 1h ago

I've seen insanely beautiful people both short and tall. I get different strokes for different folks, but tbh height is probably what I care about the least.

1

u/Sierra-117- 22m ago

I like tall girls too, but I happened to fall in love with a girl that is 5’3 (I am 6’3). We definitely look a little odd next to eachother lol

37

u/nucl3ar0ne 7h ago

What were you honest about first?

9

u/I_Like_Eggs123 5h ago

He probably said he likes taller girls so she was comfortable divulging

1

u/Sadclown44 6h ago

Or was she confessing to something first and that’s a second? That’s also pretty bad

186

u/astreeter2 8h ago

People really lie to make themselves shorter? Weird

36

u/RiipeR-LG 8h ago edited 7h ago

Might honestly be because they don’t want to match with people who care too much about height (I won’t date under 6 foot type of gal)

9

u/tasty_iron 7h ago

Which is a great filter in itself. People who focus on looks will filter themselves out.

176

u/mieri_azure 6h ago

This is likely a woman. Some guys get really weird about girls being the same height/taller than them. I know guys who would refuse to date a tall girl!! Or tell their girlfriend shes not allowed to wear heels??? (And yes many tall girls are fine with dating guys their height or shorter. If youre 5'11 thats most guys)

I wouldnt lie about it but maybe shes trying to meet more people who dont mind that much but have height set to an arbitrary limit?

11

u/samaadoo 6h ago

I say im 5'11 when im 6'1 to mess with people

3

u/Disastrous_Affect742 4h ago

Hahaha dude so many dudes claim 5"11 that are usually like 5"8-5"10

Funny your doing the opposite way. I would say 5"11 for a while cause that's what I was senior year and my cousin would claim 6"0 and I was visbly taller than him in my early 20s and his mom would be like we'll you must be 6"1 then

Im exactly 6ft and like a quarter so I always raise an eyebrow when someone says 5"11 and I can see the top of there head

6

u/Lazy-Main1782 5h ago

Yeah can’t be too tall if you’re a woman and can’t be too short if you’re a man.

1

u/JBounce369 5h ago

I often tell people I'm shorter than I am. Just to fuck with people

23

u/Dependent-Ability255 5h ago

Your response was cute

30

u/EZ_Rose 4h ago

four more inches of girl!

5

u/flueric10309 2h ago

More leg???!!!

2

u/AnxietyInevitable318 1h ago

More thighs???!!!

37

u/hazelnuttespresso 5h ago

I’m surprised that it’s so confusing to everyone here why a woman lied about her height. It’s not the right thing to do but it’s not “confusing.” Men lie that they are taller to avoid rejection, women lie the opposite for the same reason. Women who are taller tend to feel insecure about it or viewed as less feminine.

1

u/sleepiesnake 1h ago

yeah im 5'6 and i feel insecure abt it lol i wish i was 5'3

3

u/hansen900 40m ago

That's fucking stupid but maybe the average in your country for women is 5'3.

7

u/I_Like_Eggs123 5h ago

Hell yeah OP.

5

u/Disastrous_Affect742 4h ago

I've actually seen this alot on hinge. As im a true 6 feet and a quarter inch lol. Girls i went out with from hinge that claimed to be 5"7-5-8 were alwasy closer to 5"10-5"11

Kind of like most of my guy friends claim 5"11 but im a good 2-3 inches taller than them lol

15

u/Middle-Ad3778 4h ago

If you refuse to date a woman taller than you, you are stunting your genes and insecure. Make the sacrifice of your mind for your children for GODS SAKE!

5

u/Team-Conan 2h ago

I'm 6'1"... I don't wanna date a GIANT okay

10

u/KingButters27 4h ago

God forbid a man have a preference

3

u/tnerb253 2h ago

Are you talking to yourself? Because this post did the opposite to what you're preaching.

6

u/Icywarhammer500 2h ago

If you refuse to date a man shorter than you, you are performing passive eugenics and are insecure. Make the sacrifice of your mind for your children for SOCIETY’S SAKE

2

u/clarity_singularity 1h ago

Refusing to date a liar is however acceptable

1

u/Prigeonn 15m ago

You date tall woman so your children can be tall i date tall woman so her children could be short

1

u/Silly_Brilliant5296 2m ago

meanwhile women only want 7% of the us population

1

u/Silly_Brilliant5296 1m ago

if you refuse to date a short man as a woman then you’re insecure 🫩

1

u/DrDrekavac 0m ago

Short people live longer.

3

u/Informal_Tomatillo69 3h ago

Correct response

24

u/C-57D 7h ago

she already lying? but then not lying? what else will she lie about but then not lie about eventually?

53

u/Fluffy_Club722 6h ago

Reddit mfs bro 😭 "she lied about her height? She's gonna cheat on you and manipulate you"

13

u/EZ_Rose 4h ago

yeah idk we're just gonna go birdwatching tomorrow

22

u/propyl_acetate 6h ago

I don't think it's Reddit to point out that a relationship predicated on a lie is already shaky

3

u/AdhesivenessDry2236 4h ago

I agree but also reddit is like so catastrophizing that any relationship isn't good enough. Maybe just give it a sec and see if it's a pattern of lying

8

u/Leading-Chemist8173 6h ago

So lying before you even met someone is acceptable now? Holy . We have no standards anymore
