I missed the joke the first time because there actually is a bug where even if the whole video hasn't even been fully watched, it still shows that you've watched 100% of it, but found it funny on the rebound (upon looking at the comments saying that it was a dementia joke).

Some do, but for some other videos, if you click on a video, then delete it from history, the bar disappears. It's a bug.

i mostly look at youtube on my chromebook and i use a mouse. if the mouse pointer touches a thumbnail it starts to count as "playing" it.

I know this is a joke, but I unironically hate it when YouTube marks a video as completely watched when I've only clicked on it. Often times I ask myself "did I actually watch this video or is it just YouTube messing with me?"
