Project Pictures New wedge framebag

Just finished up a wedge framebag for some upcoming ultras this year. Volume came out at about 9l. Historically, I wrote these off as a poor utilization of space, but being able to carry all of my water on-bike has been incredible. The bottles on my down tube are mounted onto the Botched Bikes dragonfly, which is an incredible product.

I used a combination of evazote foam, 400d EcoPak and ultragrid from challenge, along with some scraps I had lying around for the top stripe. Zipper are #10 molded from YKK. Stoked to test it out!

Mad respect for y’all doing binding by hand. I have a hard enough time with my right angle binding attachment.

What thickness Evazote did you use?

I go back and forth on using my attachment, but with thicker foam/fabrics, I tend to just freehand it.

I used 3mm evazote foam around the border, and 1mm on the side panels. I like the structure and shape it gives when the bag isn't full.

I had a particularly thick stack on my last project and had to hand bind it. It was a straight edge and it was still challenging.

I agree about the EVA. Gives great structure.
