Project Pictures Small Bags, Big Smiles: Halloween MYOG for the Kids
Wanted to make something fun for the girls and my nephews, so I made four Halloween bags: Frankenstein, ghost, shadow, and pumpkin! All made from 420D Robic with ripstop and packcloth linings. Getting the gusset measurements right took some trial and error, but digitizing the pattern and following Ryan’s advice to sew with the gusset underneath and the panel on top helped a lot.
My nephews were so pumped—their smiles made all the hard work worth it!

I love the frankenbag. This is almost enough to convince me to start making backpacks, lol

Thank you. They are not that complicated… a few pieces put together! There are some tutorials on YT with very similar designs

That lilac has been a big hit for my family, its probably 4th of 5th bag I’ve made with it.

Thank you, I just realized I forgot to add to post that my daughters designed the faces.. The pumpkin one she purposedly drew it as goofy as possible.

That's even better! My son is very adamant that pumpkins should be "happyyyyyyyy" instead of sad or "angy"

First, these are incredible! Second, can you share a link to where you heard ‘Ryan’s advice’ about sewing gussets? As someone who struggles with gussets I’ll take all the advice I can get.

Thank you, yes... I should have been more specific, I meant The Wandering Goat. I'll attach a link below of the specific video showing the technique.
