Question Is Haakon VIII going to have an consecration ceremony?

It is really passed some time since the death of the late king Harald V, there is no any announcements nor speculations about the date or preparations for this ceremony. It is not obligatory so it came into question, is there even going to be an consecration ceremony for TM King and Queen? What do you think?

Note: I think it would be magnificent idea if Haakon VIII have coronation ceremony in honor of great king Haakon VII, but its, sadly, impossible due to constitutional ban.

I think he will but definitely not this year or in the winter. I would guess March at the earliest and June at the latest. His father waited many months himself, and ceremonies are often delayed to create a smoother transition, more importance once it finally happens.

We're still largely in the transition phase of his Reign. He's done very little so far, apart from his first speech mourning his father, the two funerals he attended, opening the Parliament this month. However tomorrow he will make his first official visit to the municipality of Narvik. Next year in June the Queen will be healthier and offically start working fully (at least to her capacity). Once again I expect the ceremony to be next year, and in that year he will probably go on a state visit to Sweden and Denmark as is typical tradition for a new King in Norway. However I don't know who he would invite to Norway for a state visit, as current Heads of State came these years: the King of Denmark Frederik X in 2024, the President of Iceland visited in 2025, the President of Finland in 2024. I don't see the King of Sweden visiting until 2028, as Haakon would visit him first and only then could extend a invitation in return. But by 2027 I think Haakon will have completed his transition period, with the ceremony as the turning point in my opinion.

I believe it will happen next year when the Queen hopefully is feeling better. However, the King is no longer head of the Norwegian church as was the case when King Harald ascended to the throne in 91. Still I believe the kings have considered the consecration ceremony a personal religious choice based on a wish to kneel and receive a blessing for their big task. The current king - and the Queen even more so - seems to be quite religious, just like his father and grandfather.

I would be surprised if he did.
