If you live in Franklin and you go downtown frequently and you’re not riding the new bus Route 10, you’re missing out. Fast and warm and free. Thanks, Mountain Line!

What restaurants have the best ranch in or around Missoula?
I have my opinions but I’d like to know what others think.
(If you think hidden valley is good you probably aren’t on the ranch committee)
Also please tell me about the best aiolis or other dips for fries/burgers/pizza/sandwiches

Hi there! Today (October 13th) I think I dropped a hat at the Missoula airport. If you found it, can I please have it back? No questions asked. I’d even pay you $45 to get it back.
It’s a black hat with the word GRiZ in white lettering with little rainbows on it. I am devastated it came off my backpack today. Please 🥺
I know I should’ve had a better grip on my belongings but it would mean the world to me if someone helped me out here.

Hey y’all,
Longtime Missoula resident who has never bought a snowbowl pass before. With more family responsibilities this year I thought I would skip a pass from Lost Trail or Lookout and go for Snowbowl since it’s so close, easy to access, etc.
They have their season passes listed at EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS?! And this is the “early bird discount?!”
Can someone help me understand? Is it because they’re at a lower elevation and need to depend more on manmade snow? Are they trying to fund a new chairlift that won’t put your life in danger every time you’re on it? Did they lose enough money last year that they have to make up for it this year? What the hell?
At this point it’s feeling like the drive time and gas is worth it for Lookout, Lost Trail, Discovery, etc….complete insanity to me but I might be missing some vital piece of information. Help me understand!

Sorry, wasn't sure where to ask this...I feel like this is not normal, but I don't know for sure. I went to a different dispensary than the one I normally go to because I was nearby, and I got some gummies. They came out of a freezer at the shop, and I noticed after I got home that they were manufactured 10/22/2024. To be clear, today is 10/13/2026.
Is this...a thing that happens? I feel like this is pretty odd. The price was better than other places I've been, and I have to wonder if it's because they're selling 2yo product.

Unfortunately, not the usual osprey sighting we like to see in town, but not an aircraft you see everyday!
Looks like it came from Billings and is heading north; maybe to Kalispell before Trump arrives?

Not Missoula, but Cutler Bros. Theatre in Deer Lodge, MT has recruited performers from Missoula in the past, I don’t know if they still do.
Patrick Cutler, aka “Bad Napoleon,” has posted plenty of offensive, painfully unfunny shit over the years, but this is a new low. This man is a father and co-founder of a Deer Lodge family theater that offers youth arts programming, yet here he is, making jokes about allegations of gang rape and portraying the woman who reported it as a money-hungry liar. Just blatant hatred of women disguised as “edgy comedy”.
In his latest attempt at relevance, he’s dressed up as Jane Doe, counting stacks of fake money and suggesting she made the whole thing up for a payday. He’s posted an entire slew of videos about it, but I couldn’t subject myself to his garbage any longer. (The comments are even more disgusting, and can be extremely triggering for some.)
I know an ugly dude wearing a wig to mock a woman is groundbreaking comedy, but what would really throw his audience for a loop would be if he could find an actual woman willing to interact with him who isn’t AI-generated. All of this from a guy whose entire comedic identity is tied to being a sloppy character reference from a movie that came out 22 years ago.
There’s also something spectacularly hypocritical about accusing a woman of fabricating something so horrific for money, while using those very allegations to drum up attention for his own desperate comedy career. I guess exploiting the situation for personal gain is only offensive when he thinks a woman is doing it?
Anyway. Fuck this guy.

It’s worth 500k tops. Never seen so many houses sit on the market that are listed for well over 700k when the same house was 425k just 6 years ago. Covid is over folks, those days of easy money are over. Good luck selling your POS.

A prominent conservative commentator from Missoula was arrested Sunday night for allegedly violating a court order that prohibited him from possessing a firearm.
Samuel Pascal Redfern's family and friends called his arrest a "false imprisonment" online, but a federal indictment alleged that Redfern had been restrained by a court from "harassing, stalking for threatening an intimate partner ... "
Law enforcement arrested Redfern, the president of the Montana Veterans Association and a conservative commentator on social media, after a grand jury said he illegally possessed a firearm, according to documents filed in Missoula federal court.

Active 40 mins after Trump is scheduled to take the stage in Kalispell and in place for 2 hours and 10 minutes.
Trump may be in Missoula area Wednesday evening or the TFR could just be protecting air assets supporting the Kalispell event.

Havent asked around much other than my dealership mechanic, to which they declined based on policy. I am wanting to put a new engine (vg33er) in my 96 nissan truck (vg30e manual 4x4) but i dont have the shop space or tools to do the major parts of the swap. Its supposedly a “bolt in” swap, i can even use the old ECM, though id have a new ecm and a slew of new performance parts with it. I just want to talk to someone about getting the old engine out and the new engine bolted to trans/body. I have a friend who is willing to help me do some of it but not only do i feel like we would both be in over our heads, i rather just pay someone more knowledgeable. I just cant break the bank, its a shitbox project truck that i refuse to let die.
Tl;dr i want a redneck engine swap for cheap, dont care about rules or warranty.
supercharged vg33 go brrrr

with prices on the rise, what are some cheaper options at missoula restaurants these days?
here's a couple I've had recently:
-bowl of chili at pipe dream. $7, delicious, filling
-shawarma plate at kamoon. split it with a friend. $20, but really tasty and easily enough for 2 people.

Hello, Missoula sub!
My son will be moving from Indiana to Missoula sometime around the end of the first week in November. I am working on getting quotes for movers. Currently, he's looking at pulling a 5x8 U-Haul with his 2006 Honda Ridgeline truck. But we've read about how careful you need to be with a couple of mountain passes in Montana, and so we're looking at some alternatives such as a pack and ship where he can focus on the drive and not worry about hauling a trailer.
First, can anyone with experience traveling west across Montana into Missoula tell me more about the mountain passes I've read about? From what I've found, it talks about using the "D3" button on his truck to keep it from shifting above 3rd gear. But when you read about things like potential transmission overheating or melting your brakes, it's kinda scary, especially when you've not done that before. So if his comfort level isn't there for this, I'm looking at pack and ship options.
The good news here is he doesn't have a lot to move. He believes between he and his girlfriend, they could fit it all in a 5x8 U-Haul trailer. No major furniture at all, mostly just a lot of boxes and bins and no more than one room total. Of course, this is a lot more expensive than hauling a trailer yourself. Many companies like PODS don't service his route. The ones who do, we're looking at over $4,000 on estimates. The cheapest I've found so far is an estimate from Allied Van Lines in the upper $2,000/lower $3,000 range. But I'd greatly appreciate hearing from anyone who has made a long-distance move to Missoula with a smaller number of items and who you used/how much it cost.
Really open to all your suggestions here. Thanks so much for your help!
