Africa WORDS OF ADVICE FROM THE EXPERIENCED UNDERGROUND MINERS?

There's a part of an underground mine that seems to be caving in slowly (with my eyes) in a workshop but I've only worked in this mine for 3 months. It's reinforced with split sets and mining mesh but I still don't trust the structural integrity of it. Any words if advice front the experienced?

Africa 310-Ton Sand Gold Run: Good Leach (3.3 to 0.8 ppm), Bad Elution & Copper Slag Traps

Hello Reddit,

Wanted to share a breakdown of a recent 310-tonne CIP leaching run on gold tailings that didn't go to plan financially.

The initial setup & budget:

-Feed purchased: 310 tonnes of tailings @ 3.3 ppm (Au)

-Ore cost: 90,000,000 TZS (~$33k USD)

-OPEX (chemicals, labor, water, power): 35,000,000 TZS (~$13k USD)

Total spent: 125,000,000 TZS (~$46k USD)

The output:

-Dore bar 1: 379.5g @ 89% purity (~337.8g fine gold)

-Dore bar 2: 59.7g @ 35% purity (~20.9g fine gold)

Total recovered fine gold: 358.65 grams

Recovering only 358g of pure fine gold against 930g contained in the raw feed was a disaster (38.5% total recovery). Testing the tailing solids post-clearing showed a grade drop from 3.3 ppm down to 0.8 ppm (~75% recovery).

The 0.8 ppm tail proved cyanidation worked. We actually dissolved around 750 grams of gold out of the rock into solution. Our failure happened completely downstream.

Carbon over-saturation and fouling: assays on our 350 kg carbon batch showed a pre-elution grade of 693 ppm Au and a massive 1,099 ppm Cu. High copper co-extraction loaded our carbon early, limiting its gold pickup capacity and leaving dissolved gold un-adsorbed in the barren solution.

Smelting and slag entrapment: The high copper content contaminated the melt. A cross-section of our slag showed distinct layering: light silicate glass on top, green copper silicate in the middle, and a heavy dark copper-iron matte at the bottom that probably scavenged fine gold prills right out of the melt.

We basically just made our investment back.

Curious to hear from any metallurgists or CIP operators here of their experience.

Africa Question for Commodity Brokers: How Do You Find Credible Buyers?

I'm in Africa and building my network in the commodities trade, with connections to suppliers across minerals such as lithium, gold, chrome and manganese.

I'm also learning how established platforms and broker networks connect listed supply opportunities with genuine buyers and investors.

For those already active in the industry, what channels have worked best for sourcing verified buyers? How do you qualify buyers and avoid wasting time on intermediaries without mandates or proof of funds?

I'd appreciate practical advice from experienced traders and brokers.

Africa Mauritania, whose been?

G'day legends,

I've been asked if I'd be keen on a jaunt to Mauritania for 4 weeks to check out a few things.

The Australian government has the capital under a level 3 travel advisory, and the rest of the country is a level 4.

I'm keen on the adventure, but I'm not super keen on being beheaded by some offshoot of Boko Haram.

Those of you who have worked in Mauritania, is there anything to consider before heading off? Anything to be mindful of? Anything I should make sure the client is organising and sorted out before jumping on a plane? Like work permits for example

Africa I’m curious if anyone knows if solar power is viable?

I’m in a situation with my company where I might have to look into a solar system instead of normal power. My mine is a start up basically. We are mostly running pumps for leaching tanks & pumping water. We wanted to go full milling & get a heavy 40 beater hammer, a 3 tonne Boremill.

Is there a solar system that can allow me to run these machines plus lights & a deep freezer( I can do a solar one on this). Any assistance would be appreciated.

Africa Seeking Equipment Partner – Small-Scale Gold Mine (Tanzania)

I operate a small-scale gold mining site in Tanzania with active production and verified quartz ore.

I am seeking an investor specifically to fund equipment upgrades (crusher, mill, and processing instruments) to increase tonnage and recovery efficiency.

Current operation is running but limited by machinery capacity. Expansion potential is clear.

Open to:

• Profit-sharing agreement

• Equity partnership

• Structured return on investment

Serious inquiries only. Documentation and operational details available upon request.

Africa What’s the deal with Africa

Anybody who has worked in Africa care to shed some light on it? I’ve received a few job offers to work long fifo swings in Africa and the pay has never been all that great.

Are people really leaving residential or in country even time rosters for like 25% more pay to work a way worse roster?

I have always wanted to work in Africa as a career goal but it’s not something I can justify to my family to be gone 3 quarters of the year and bring home not much more money.

Africa 🪙 Small-Scale Gold Mine in Chunya, Tanzania — Seeking Partner/Investor to Expand Production

I’m currently operating a licensed small-scale gold mine in Chunya District, Mbeya Region, Tanzania, and I’m looking for a partner or investor to help scale up production capacity.

Project Overview: • Location: Chunya, Mbeya, Tanzania • Stage: Active and licensed small-scale operation • Ore grade (Au): Ranges between 1.0 – 7.0 g/t based on multiple rock samples • Processing method: Carbon absorption system currently in use (gravity + adsorption) • Throughput: Around 10 tons per week • Expansion goal: To improve processing plant efficiency, increase daily throughput, and optimize gold recovery • Investment model: Flexible — open to profit-sharing, gold-based returns, or equity participation

We have all required permits in order, and I can provide assay reports, geological data, and site photos for serious inquiries. This is a real, producing site — not an exploration proposal.

If anyone here has experience in small-scale or mid-tier gold operations and is interested in a hands-on partnership or investment, feel free to DM me. I’m open to transparent discussion and collaboration.

Africa Robex Resources and Predictive Discovery Ltd merger compared to Heliostar

I'm hoping someone who has looked into both these companies before could give a short rundown on what the combined operations would look like.

I'm trying to do a realistic comparison between Heliostar and the combined entity.

From what I gather both Heliostar and the PDI merger plan to have around 400k ounces production of gold annually by 2030.

Heliostar trades at quite a discount to the merger, $700M CAD compared to an estimated $2.7B AUD (4.5B shares @ .60 AUD) (1 CAD = 1.07 AUD).

Heliostar aims for sub $1300 aisc.

Kinda trying to figure out what I'm missing, I've only been looking at mining companies for a few months. 👍🙏
