In college my dorm room was 1st floor, room window was right near the only unlocked door for people coming home late. I lost count of how many times roommate and I were woken up because there was some type of long goodbye being had in a jacked up truck with lights directly into our room.
Kept a large mirror on the windowsill that we'd shine their headlights right back in their faces with if the mirror wasn't lined up right when they pulled up and we woke up. They'd put the lights out quick. Still super annoying to wake up to, but they got the message.

Not quite the same, but we had a history glass in high school where god bless the teacher he’d do class outside on nice sunny days… and my friend found it amusing to subtly and deadpan reflect the sun from his watch face to the teacher’s groin.

Given the number of cars parked there, it would be reasonable for your town or city to put streetlights up in the area. If you believe that particular light is a problem, check to see if your county has any regulations on light pollution from private residences or property.

Assuming this is a bunch of apartments with a house on the end of the street? Soooo many cars. Or, is the light also an apartment?

Looks like apartments or shitty townhomes. Apartments wouldn't let you wire up a light like that, tho.

A similar post was mare recently. You can show him this pic and ask for him to place a downlight shade.
Otherwise just shoot it down

I won’t be seen in this massive flood of comments, but I say you should buy five flood lights and point it directly into his bedroom.

With the number of cars packed in every available space in the driveways and the street, it looks like there is some sort of party going on and the light is on for that, so that people can find the place and then get back to their cars later (due to the absence of street lights).

And when you called code enforcement, or a similar municipal agency, what did they say about that? Is there some sort of violation for doing that?

This is textbook light trespass from a neighboring property, op should look into their city/county ordinances and report it, assuming they got something on the books for this, most places do.

Old townhouse I rented they put up security floodlights all around. I was like I didn’t sign up for this so you guys gotta buy me black out curtains or something. They installed some blinds that were supposed to help but it really didn’t. Had to buy black out curtains myself.

Better yet, get a blackout curtain and thank them for illuminating the area making it easier to navigate and added safety in what looks to be a very crowded street with parallel parking which would be easier with light.

No, that's not it. The night should be dark.

Thats literally what this subreddit is for. To complain about mildly infuriating things.

Right? Interesting to come to a place for people to complain and then let them have it
