I'm slightly vexed My coffee was snatched right before my very eyes
Preface I probably should have been more aware of my surroundings but this was probably not preventable. Background I am a 23f nursing student that is currently doing a clinical in lower Manhattan. I was on my way to clinical this morning and still had time before I needed to go in, so I decided to get dunkin as I’ve done many times before. All was good up until this point I order my food, a $6 meal that came with a sandwich, hash browns, and a coffee, and I go to sit at a table. This is a relatively small Dunkin that had only 2-3 tables available. But again I have already done this same routine many times before. I’m eating my breakfast while I’m talking on the phone with my mom to pass the time as I watch people go in and out of the Dunkin. Maybe 15-20 minutes into me passing the time. My half drank iced coffee was grabbed by a homeless lady as I watched her drink from my straw and run out of the dunkin. I was in shock as I wasn’t expecting my coffee to be snatched right before my eyes and then very confused as I watched this lady run out with my coffee. I decided I was already over the day and went to my hospital clinical coffee-deprived.

You can just get a new one, it's not great for customer satisfaction to have their coffee stolen by a disturbed person.

If it were someone who took it on purpose just to be mean instead, I would have pulled them outside and thrown down right there in the middle of the street. Nobody steals my drink and gets away with it.

I'm pretty sure you could afford another cup while the homeless lady could not. I'd just write it off as my good deed for the day. As others have pointed out though you could probably get a new one.

I don’t understand this mentality. Just because they can afford another one doesn’t mean it’s ok for someone to steal from them. Just like when people say if someone steals food or diapers it’s ok because they probably really need it. WHAT?!!!

Im sure dunkin would have replaced if you told the cashier.
