🥺 My breasts exploded

I just got the results from an MRI, and apparently breast implants don't last forever. I knew that, but when I had my double masectomy 25 years ago because I have one of the many genetic mutations that cause breast cancer I didn't even think about down the road. I just carried on and somehow forgot about the temporary factor.

Well, today I learned they just kind of self combusted and there's silicone flying freely in my body. Fun. The pictures look like little pieces of confetti gleefully thrown about my chest by evil body goblins. Now I'll have to have surgery again to replace them. I'm not looking forward to it. I'm scared of the surgery going under anesthesia, as I'm a redhead and anesthesia resistant. I've woken up during at least two surgeries that I can remember.

This sucks, but I'm trying to look on the bright side, it's still better than having breast cancer.

Edit: Thanks y'all for your kind words and also for making me laugh so hard, I feel better already!

Remind the anesthesiologist that you're a redhead and will need extra!!!

NO IDEA if this will work in surgery, but the only way I will numb for dental work is if I take tums the night before and then again before the surgery. I have no clue why it works but my dentist suggested it. Again, never tried it for surgery but it’s worth a try.
Before I consistently did this, I’d require 5-6 shots to get numb at the dentist

That's really fascinating. I did a search and some dentist sites recommended this, but I can't figure out how it works, because the body's pH stays regulated relatively in the same pH range, even if you eat something acidic or alkaline because your stomach neutralizes different pH levels of stuff you eat. Trying to find more literature on it.

Please share if you find literature on it! It’s so strange. It absolutely works

Thank you for knowing the science behind pH/alkaline/acid. I have WAY too many adults in my life who believe that drinking alkaline water is somehow beneficial in some way other than just - yay! Your drinking water!

Yes, great to meet another science minded person!
