DISCUSSION Does anyone else have an uncontrollable want to play a ME inspired DnD campaign?
Hi first time posting here :3
I've played these games countless times but none of my friend even know what the hell I mean when I say "Mass Effect"
This is probably due to the fact I'm 15 and was born a few months before ME3 came out, and the fact I live in a very conservative place that takes one look at mass effect went "ew woke gay bullshit" and then ignored its existence
But it means I am alone admist my friend group as the only one who's played mass effect. And I've been playing a Warhammer inspired DnD campaign with some of my friends and am replaying the games at the same time.
And this got me thinking how much I would love to play a DnD campaign in the ME universe.
(But I have no-one to do so with meaning my the Quarian I have an entire character sheet for will probably never see the light of day.)

DISCUSSION Hot Take: The Jacob hate is excessive
Pretty much what the title says. I’ve been a die hard mass effect fan for over 15 years and never understood the hatred for Jacob to this level. Is he a great character? Absolutely not, but there are many characters worse than him, Zaeed, Kasumi, James, are all same tier or worse than Jacob imo.
I’m aware he cheats on your Shepard if you romance him but I think that adds interesting nuance to his character. Plus his loyalty mission in mass effect 2 is legit a great and emotionally impactful mission.
He’s a character with nuance who doesn’t blindly worship Shepard. He’s a C tier character.
I just don’t understand the hatred for a perfectly average character and why so many people go out of their way to kill him off or not invite him to Citadel party in ME3!

DISCUSSION One thing I really appreciate about ME3 is the companions moving around.
It's a small thing but makes them feel more alive than just NPCs staying in one defined location at all times.

DISCUSSION Khalisah al-Jilani should’ve been the reporter over Allers.
Beating another dead horse, I know. However, if Emily Wong isn’t an option, having Khalisah on our ship being the reporter would be both confrontational and beneficial. She asks “tough” questions the average citizen would be concerned about during the literal galactic apocalypse, while Shepard’s responses prove why he/she is leading the spearhead across the galaxy.
I don’t know if it’s an unpopular opinion or not, but I actually really liked her encounters. The paragon dialogue with her throughout the trilogy feels very confrontational but also demonstrates Shepard’s top tier diplomatic skills.
If you chose the paragon dialogue in ME1 and ME2, it would’ve been pretty cool to “recruit” her in ME3 after the interaction with her in the early game.

DISCUSSION Hot take: I enjoyed this shit
Scanning planets blitzed out of my mind at 3am was enjoyable to me. Meticulously scanning ever square just helped to slow things down in my head, then the absolute rush of finding a spike of resources? Oh baby. And then sometimes the ticking sound of a DOUBLE resource spike? Oh man. That is pure orgasmic ecstasy. I'm hoping to someday crowdfund a game that is just scanning planets.

MASS EFFECT 3 That Krogan poet...
Hey, just playing ME3, taking my time. I just played the Utukku quest. Nice to see Grunt happy and leading a krogan team.
Anyways, I recovered the message of a dead krogan to his asari wife. I had totally forgot I had met this couple in ME2, and helped them with their relationship. My heart broke when she played the message and I realize it was the krogan poet that wanted a peaceful life with his wife in Tuchanka...

DISCUSSION Husks after the Synthesis Ending
Since the huskification process destroys all original cerebral function, does their connection to the Reaper network mean they are entirely dependent on it, or can they possess any form of individual autonomy?

DISCUSSION Dr. Michel Can Replace Chakwas. What Are Some Other Potential Crew Replacments You Can Think Of?
Of course we love our crew and don't want to replace anyone. But just for a fun thought experiment, if you had to replace people, can you think of any good choices? Dr. Michel was a pretty minor NPC in the first game, so any characters are valid picks!

SHOW & TELL Mass Effect Infiltrator (Revived)

COSA HO FATTO:
- L'ho fatto girare sui telefoni moderni a 64 bit, lasciando il gioco originale com'era
- Schermo intero sui display di oggi, niente bande nere
- Risoluzione nativa con antialiasing 4x
- Colore a 32 bit invece dei 16 bit originali
- Texture più nitide
- 60 fps stabili
- Completamente offline: niente pubblicità, niente tracciamento, nessun permesso

DISCUSSION Scenes where you think a Renegade or Paragon interrupt were needed?
As the title says, can you guys think of any scenes where a Paragon or Renegade interrupt were needed/would fit in?
I think a renegade interrupt after the fight with Vasir(?) (Asari Spectre) was much needed. She’s on her death bed monologuing and all I can think about is how my Renegade Shepard would put her out of her misery to shut her up. What do you guys think?
Edit: I think it’s because I wrote the title wonky, but I think people are misinterpreting my question. The question isn’t what’s an interrupt you always hit, I mean what’s a scene where you think “there should’ve been a paragon or renegade interrupt here?”

THEORY Perfect Destroy next step for Shep Spoiler
You achieved perfect destroy. God willing you made it through your play through with your love interest and best friend still alive (Miranda, Garrus).
My Shep tracks down the Normandy, waits until it hits some port where he can find Garrus at the bar and finally make good on that promise.
After that he says to his buddy, he’s gotta go find Miranda so they can live in secluded peace.
What do you think your Shep does next after taking that breath and getting their bearings back?

DISCUSSION Project Overlord
I don’t usually come to hate, but does anyone else hate the Project Overlord mission in ME2? For me it always felt like a mission that wouldn’t end. Even on my first playthrough. Why am I traveling to four different bases, fighting enemies in all of them, traversing lava and being wildly outmanned for a SIDE MISSION?! The payoff of which is just the idiot scientist asking how his brother was doing based on your choices. It just feels absurd and like it drags on forever to me.

DISCUSSION If everyone in the Galaxy believed Shepard in 3, all teamed up(the Terminus System, Citadel Races, Krogan, Quarians, Geth, etc) and obviously used all that time to prepare specifically for the Reapers, could they have won a conventional war?
Fuck it, add in the Collectors as well

DISCUSSION Jack not being kissable for FemSheps WHEN SHE TALKS ABOUT BEING WITH A MAN AND WOMAN is so sad. I also just learned she originally was able to but hers and multiple queer romances were cut?
The decision was reportedly driven by caution and a desire to avoid media backlash. Following the release of the first Mass Effect in 2007, the studio faced heavy criticism from conservative media outlets—including a prominent panel on Fox News—over the game's depictions of sexual content and relationships. Because of this controversy, BioWare pulled back on several non-straight romance options late in Mass Effect 2's cycle, leaving Jack exclusively heterosexual in the final release despite in-game dialogue hinting at her past relationships with both men and women.

DISCUSSION Peebee is Beloved To Me
In general, I know that Andromeda gets a lot of hate from the Mass Effect community. And I feel like within the group that hates on Andromeda, there's also a lot of hate for Peebee. I'm not sure if the general public opinion is that she's annoying or if it's just a loud minority, but either way, I feel very strongly that she does not get enough appreciation. So I wanted to make a small post talking about why I love her character!
She's certainly a big trope of a character. The sarcastic, aloof loner type. But I feel that when you look beyond the surface level of her character, she's actually handled really well. Her humor can be hit or miss. You probably need to have a tolerance for quips. But when you get to know her, you come to find that her constant humor is a way for her to deal with the difficult stuff.
For those who don't know, the short version of her story is that she has a passion for seeing the unseen and doing things nobody else has done, which is probably an effect of her psychology- her compulsion to avoid staying in one place for long, because she struggles with feeling like her safe spaces can be taken away at any moment. The one person she grew close to, who convinced her to come along on the expedition to Andromeda, turned out to be an abusive and manipulative person. Her sense of safety and comfort was taken away. So, she finds herself alone in a new galaxy, and chooses never to stay in one place for very long, and never to get to know anybody personally.
Of course, that changes upon joining Ryder's crew. If you check in with her frequently, you can watch her grow more comfortable and almost envious of the "found-family" vibe that the ship has, having convinced herself that it wasn't something she could have. That her place on the ship was temporary. You, as the player, can show her that she deserves to have a family too.
If you go the romance route, this journey is even more touching. She'll flirt with you constantly and even offer to hook up with you, seeing your relationship as nothing more than a fun fling. Giving her the temporary feeling of closeness while still being able to pull away and hide at a moment's notice. You can go along with this but then grow your relationship later on- or- you can turn down her advance and insist that if the two of you have a relationship, you'd want it to be real. Both routes are valid in the romance, but have different vibes.
In the end, it's such a pleasure to watch her grow more and more comfortable around you. You literally see her getting in closer proximity to you at her every opportunity. She'll talk about "Investigate" topics that she wouldn't talk to you about before. And she takes things more seriously instead of just replying to everything with a joke. It's such a good development to witness.
So, if you find yourself playing Andromeda again, and maybe weren't much a fan of Peebee, give her another shot! Show her the time and understanding to allow her to grow. Or if you weren't much a fan of Andromeda as a whole- give it another chance! It's a really fun game once you know what to expect.

MASS EFFECT 1 Geth Pulse Rifle Glitch (LE1)?
My Geth Pulse Rifle X has the regular Lancer model, and has the regular three slots for an ammo mod and two upgrades. Am I on the wrong end of a glitch, or is there a different one that looks the part somewhere?
