Slow Data Writing

So I have tried a few distros, and been very happy with CachyOS but I am having one issue with a specific game. I play OOTP (Out of the Park Baseball 27) and it has an export to CSV function that writes some league data that I then can upload to a site for a group of people that all play in the same league. This normally takes about 2-3 minutes to write the data to the drive in windows 11. However in CachyOS, PikaOS, PoP OS, Nobara and Bazzite that I have tried it is taking over 60+ minutes to do the same thing.
My windows 11 drive is a WD SN850x and my linux testing has been on a Samsung 990 Pro for Cachy, and a WD SN770 for the other distrobutions. I can't for the life of me figure out why it would be so much slower in linux however.
Wondering if anyone has tried this specifcally or has some suggestions for a way to improve this. Everything else I do or play has been excellent so far.

That is unfortunate and curious. I don't know the answer but I can think of stuff that might matter:

Are you running Linux in a VM or on your hardware directly?

Your Samsung drive is it nvme, on the motherboard too or are you using USB to one of those drive enclosure things?

I'm assuming this is steam game so are you using flatpak or running native steam? Although I'm reaching here, I wouldn't think flatpak would be huge slowdown.

I am running all OS direct on the drive(s) that are connected through the motherboard internal connectors.
Also the game is installed through steam.
It actually simulates just fine in game, it’s just the data writing export that is slow. It seems to bog down with a bunch of message files the game creates.

OK. Where are you writing the files? What filesystem like NTFS, btrfs, ext4, or something else? Can you just copy files in that folder and it be fast or is it slow just to do that? I'm trying to help you troubleshoot
