Republican candidates are using AI fakes to put words in their Democratic opponents' mouths.

The facts: True, and it is lopsided. The Wesleyan Media Project has tracked at least 164 AI-generated or AI-enhanced political ads this cycle. Republican candidates or pro-Republican groups sponsored 80% of them and 83% of the spending.

Probably the Last Post I’m Going to Make Here for a While

Hey Fellow Veterans,

I decided to go away from the US for a bit. With everything going on and how hard or long I have to wait just for some medical/mental assistance from the VA I thought of going abroad for stuff the VA wouldn’t treat me for at this time (dental for instance since I do not have 100%). I met someone on here (Reddit not [r/leftistveterans](r/leftistveterans)) from Australia 2 years ago while I was still serving. They were telling me how great Australia was and to come see them if I had the money, and that they’d welcome me with open arms and support me if I ever found myself there. Almost every day we spoke to one another nonstop. It wasn’t until I actually booked my flight that they turned around and told me “hey I think it’s best you cancelled your flight.” Up until 06:00 PDT they’ve been completely silent with me.

I can’t exactly cancel my flight anymore. I’m so physically and mentally screwed up I genuinely could not wait another second for the VA. I was told Australian healthcare was alright. I just wanna know why someone would butter up an Army Servicemember, no a Vet, just to suddenly go around and slam the door in their face as everything in their life is falling at the seams.

Anyways what’s your guys’ favorite place in the world to spend vacation at? I just don’t recognize my own family, friends, or home anymore. Nothing makes sense. Why now? Who knows it seems like everyone either has the Crossed Virus or became a complete sociopath. The second my backpay hit my bank my dad wanted to get a piece of that pie for himself to fund his drug addiction or something. We never formally agreed to shit. I thought him “helping me” pay my debt from leaving the military was just an act of kindness. I was wrong I guess. Nothing like business in family. Now I’m basically on a one way flight to Australia with no avenue of support. Nothing. Not even a ride to a hotel from the airport.

Got gestapo running around everywhere. Got refrigerators shutting off from “cyber attacks” and food spoiling. Got midterms. Call me a coward for running. I’m just hurting so fucking much that my service went to ALL THIS. Truthfully I don’t know a damn thing anymore. This world’s gone to hell and I’ve lost any form of belonging I once had.

From, Just Another Army Vet

US threatens to block arms for Ukraine over attacks on Russian refineries

The Trump administration is threatening to stop the procurement system that provides Ukraine with weapons in order to press Kyiv to halt its deep strikes on Russian energy infrastructure, according to officials in Europe.

The officials, who received calls from American officials on Saturday and Sunday or were briefed on them, said the US was lobbying European capitals and Kyiv in an attempt to end the attacks on Russian oil refineries. The White House declined to confirm or comment on the calls.

The US message, the officials added, included threats to cut off intelligence sharing and Purl — the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List mechanism for procuring US weapons for Ukraine.

“They are calling Kyiv . . . they are calling everyone [in Europe],” said an official who received a call from a US defence official.

Pentagon raises official toll of troops who died during war with Iran to 21

The Pentagon acknowledged late Friday that the number of troops who have died in the Middle East during its operations against Iran is higher than previously reported, and updated the official count to include two more noncombat deaths.

The Washington Post exclusively reported last month, based on information from six U.S. officials, that the numbers of service members lost was greater than what the Pentagon was reporting in its official, public database, known as the Defense Casualty Analysis System, or DCAS.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth at the time called that reporting “a complete lie” in a social media post. However, late Friday, the Pentagon raised the figure publicly reported in DCAS to include additional deaths.

As of Friday, the total troop deaths the administration is connecting to operations against Iran and officially reporting in DCAS stands at 21.

Do you have any examples that personally offended you as a taxpayer?
