Discussion how do i stop my phone from doing this everytime?

1st pic: Close to irl color

2nd pic: Turns brighter and changed its colour if I aim my phone longer

Does anyone know which setting is making this issue? I just want to capture the real scenery... I captured the first pic immediately before it changes color within seconds so thats why it's not focused/HD.

i am using iphone 11 btw

Use a camera app that lets you set the white balance.

The camera tries to find something neutral in the scene to figure out what the ‘real’ colours are. When there isn’t anything grey/white in the scene, it guesses and can get it wrong.

When you manually set the white balance to daylight or cloudy it will look more like the first image.

Try Indigo or No Fusion.

Edit: in your 2nd photo, it looks like it’s picked up the soffit in the top right corner as being white (it probably is) but because of how ‘warm’ the sunset is, the camera has overcorrected to make the whole scene greyish.

I second No Fusion. It's been a great camera app without any pre-processing for me.

The default iPhone camera is very auto. What you are seeing there is the white balance being corrected and the exposure being adjusted.

The exposure you can tweak yourself by tapping on what you want to focus on and then dragging your finger up or down to brighten or darken the image.

You can also open the camera controls to change this.

The white balance is trickier to take control of without 3rd party apps.

The iPhone also takes high dynamic range pics. It takes the same image at multiple exposures and then combines them. This allows you to see the details in the bright sky and the dark shadows.

The way to stop it. Go manual. Use a 3rd party app and change the settings as you need. But this makes shooting more of a science and makes point and click harder.
