As a dog groomer this is what I think people imagine a grooming salon has and can't understand why it can take up to 3-4 hrs for grooming. I have always joked that we don't have a conveyor belt/washing machine we send the dogs through This video made me lol, I'm totally showing it to my co-workers ❤️

Sounds like an industry primed for disruption.

Let me know if you want me to provide the AI workflow.

It will be a dark day once we allow clankers to wash our precious babies

At $90 a wash and blow where I’m from dog groomers are like vets cost the moon and have clients that can’t talk back otherwise I suspect the one star reviews would be off the charts!

Automatic dog washing machines do exist. I doubt they are as good as a hand washing.. .but I'm also okay with washing my own dog vs taking her to a groomer. https://youtu.be/UJ-YpzIkj40

The dryers are seem to have a much worse record of dog trauma https://youtu.be/oAMbX299yxA

I always feel like those are really traumatic for animals. I’ve seen various animals be put into those giant washer/dryer machine looking things.

What the fuck?! Omg that poor dog!!! 💔 I actually just gave my dog (half German Shepherd/ half Belgian Malinois) a bath a few hours ago, it took like 10 or 15 minutes tops. We just went outside and I tied her to a tree and used a hose and scrubbed her really good with dog shampoo and then hosed her off again and she shook and I towled her off a little bit and we were all done 🤷 it's so so so much easier than when I used to take her to use the dog washers at the pet store. So much easier and faster and so much less stressful for my dog. She doesn't like going to the big dog washing station for some reason, she's so much more calm just outside with the hose and I can scrub her better for some reason. I'll probably never ever take her to a groomer and I'll probably never go to the pet store to use the wash station ever again.

Every day I’m even more glad that I didn’t have kids.

Why? I put my kids in the dishwasher. Most of them have been fine

Damn, can you imagine being so ungrateful for a very valuable service that you complain about it's "efficiency". If your going to complain about it's work length, then you should just do it yourself

this isn't really cleaning though, it's disinfecting.

Used to work at a pet hotel that also offered baths and nail trims and I always hated doing it. It always took forever to blow out the huskies, shepherds, and retrievers and those were always the dogs that the owner’s wanted to get baths.

3-4 hours????

I don't have a dog, but that sounds insane. I feel like a normal medium sized dog should take 1-2 hours

I would say grooming is more like sheering season, although even that is quantity over quality. This is just a dip to clear parasites rather than cleaning, which is why the water looks pretty filthy and the exiting sheep are just as grimy as when they went in. I wonder if a customer would still want the quick job if they saw those sheering videos.

I love that it takes that long. Bit of a half day day care for them and is handy if you need them out of the house for a few hours

Why does it take that long per dog? I don't know what you do at all and this seems like a really suspiciously long time. I don't doubt you, the opposite actually, I'm just saying that doesn't feel like an appropriate amount of time for someone who doesn't know shit about what you actually do. Which I assume is basically all of your customers. I think you shampoo the dog, trim the hair and that's it. A human haircut witj both of those is like 1/4 the time. Again in on your side but I can see why people might see this as ridiculous. Most of us are really dumb and don't realize we should see things from other perspectives to understand.

But why does it take that long? Keep in mind I think your basically a dog carwash. I have no experience in my life to suggest it would be anything other than some 30 minute haircut, as I've never done what you do.
